We are seeking a highly motivated EASA Flight Lead to join our team in Mesa.
The role of the EASA Flight Lead is to lead, mentor and coach EASA Flight instructors and serve as the student advocate and for flight training related issues. This position has substantial latitude to develop policies and programs for areas of responsibility in coordination with the EASA Training Manager. Works in collaboration with local counterparts (standardization, safety) to maintain training standards and ensure compliance with EASA regulatory agencies.
Responsibilities:
- Monitors and addresses student progress. Assists line instructors in their development as professionals. Takes on training issues; struggling students, administers training reviews/termination boards; is single point of contact for student training complaints. Influence’s student/instructor allocation decisions. Takes on additional administrative duties as required
- Administers student onboarding and indoctrination week training (scheduling, content, and classes). Maintain and publish key performance metrics related to EASA program performance.
- Oversee and monitor special programs (MPL clients) Ensures program performance and communicates/escalates issues related to MPL programs. Periodically observe EASA instructors for standardization compliance and effective instructional delivery.
- Leads effort regarding student syllabus audits. Maintains process.
- Works closely with EASA Training manager and EASA standardization manager to improve courseware and maintain integrated training program.
- Train and mentor individual EASA instructors and flight leads on training program content and delivery.
Qualifications & Skills required:
- Must be authorized to live/work in the United States
- Associates degree or equivalent credit hours in related field of study; aviation management, business or operations management required.
- Possess FAA Flight Instructor certificate
- Possess FAA CFII and MEI (preferred, not required)
- Possess EASA CPL and FIE, FI(I) ratings (preferred, not required)
- Ability to prioritize and managed several competing priorities
- Knowledge of planning and scheduling applications
- Competency in the use of MS Excel or other database management tools
- 2 years of combined experience as a flight instructor, Flight lead, Assistant or Chief instructor at an EASA qualified flight school.
