Parsons is now accepting applications for an Engineering Co-op Student with great attention to detail and ready to join a rapidly growing team. This Fall internship would be based out of the Parsons Boston office.

In this role, under the direction of a degreed engineer, you will perform a variety of basic to moderately difficult engineering support assignments requiring a fundamental knowledge of design/drafting standards, practices, and techniques. The co-op student at this level typically takes engineering notes, specifications, rough sketches, etc., and formalizes them into working drawings. Assignments are designed to develop a practical knowledge of equipment, facilities, and systems, and their interrelationships within a particular engineering discipline.
Responsibilities:
- Assists with a variety of civil engineering tasks to complete remedial designs for hazardous and solid waste projects including barrier walls (slurry techniques, sheet piles), sediment remediation, landfill, excavation, and solidification projects.
- Assist in developing design drawings and writing technical specifications.
- Take part in providing construction oversight, construction quality assurance, and field engineering field assignments.
- Assist with the development of grading plans and perform engineering calculations (such as stormwater analysis).
- Work effectively and collaboratively with the project team.
- Candidate must also implement behavior-based safety tools to achieve incident-free operations (no personal injuries, property damage, or environmental releases) for both the client and Parsons.
Qualifications:
Must be enrolled in an engineering curriculum at an accredited college or university and have completed typically 1+ year of studies in a major Engineering discipline (e.g., Civil, Electrical, Mechanical, etc.).
Relevant coursework required
Literate in PC software, with a working knowledge of CAD, and other computer software used to complete design assignments.

Salary Range:
$20.63 - $36.11
