Your new role

This is a new Transport Admin/Planning job supporting a busy and vibrant transport team. Main duties include but not limited to:

* Decide the prioritised delivery requirements of customers, analyse and route vehicles accordingly.
* Communicate with sales staff to determine customer delivery requirements.
* Be involved in constant dialogue with the warehouse team.
* Monitor vehicle progress throughout the day.
* Communicate routing decisions to drivers, including all necessary and accurate delivery information.
* Communicate and build relationships with suppliers and agencies.
* Request back-loading suitable for planned deliveries and stock transfers.
* Organise deliveries according to customer demands.
* Communicate with subcontractors.
* Identify customer requirements through sales and develop plans to meet them.
* Develop strong working relationships and have regular contact with drivers.
* Consider drivers' working time regulations.
* Perform any other duties as directed.

What you'll need to succeed
To succeed in this job, you will require experience in a similar role, with exposure to working within a transport planning/routing/office/team. You will require a keen eye for detail and the ability to effectively manage internal and external relationships, solve problems and work at pace within a team environment. Communication is key for this role, as well as the ability to influence, at all levels, both internally and externally, and you will need to be confident on the phone when speaking to a wide variety of people, from suppliers to drivers. You will require great IT skills and the ability to learn new processes and systems quickly.

• Helps determine business priorities and best sequence for execution of business/group strategy.
• Conducts independent analysis and assessment to resolve strategic issues.
• Demonstrates effective and timely use of the customer relationship management system and expense reporting system.
• Adheres to all compliance, regulatory, and legal guidelines.
• Focus is primarily on business/group within BMO; may have broader, enterprise-wide focus.
• Exercises judgment to identify, diagnose, and solve problems within given rules.
• Works independently on a range of complex tasks, which may include unique situations.

  Qualifications:

• Typically between 4 - 6 years of relevant experience and post-secondary degree in related field of study or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Preference for marketing and social media skills
• Growing understanding of intermediary sales and the market.
• Technical proficiency gained through education and/or business experience.
• Verbal & written communication skills - In-depth.
• Collaboration & team skills - In-depth.
• Analytical and problem solving skills - In-depth.
• Influence skills - In-depth.
• Data driven decision making - In-depth.

Salaries will vary based on factors such as location, skills, experience, education, and qualifications for the role, and may include a commission structure. Salaries for part-time roles will be pro-rated based on number of hours regularly worked. For commission roles, the salary listed above represents BMO Financial Group’s expected target for the first year in this position.
