The position reports to the Head of Export Control Programme Office and cooperates with the Head of Airbus Export Control and the Divisional Heads of Export Control.

As the Export Control Programme Office is responsible for ensuring that the key elements of the Export Control compliance programme are effective and reflective of changing laws and regulations, the "Export Control Advisor - Regulatory and Risk Management" supports this commitment by organising, structuring Airbus export control capabilities in order to capture, assess and communicate to the concerned functions and EC teams changes in sanctions and export control regulations that could impact Airbus business group wide.

As the Export Control Programme Office is responsible to coordinate the divisions assessment and management of export control risks and opportunities, in addition to assessing, reporting and managing its own risks and opportunities, the “ECM - Risk management and regulatory watch” is supporting the Head of Airbus Export Control and the Ethic & Compliance risk officer in assessing and managing the group export control risks/opportunities and ensure they are adequately reported, monitored and mitigated/leveraged.

Your challenges:
A - Regulatory watch
The "Export Control Investigator - Regulatory and Risk Management as official export control Airbus External Requirements Representative (AERR) within the Business Management System (BMS) is responsible to survey external requirements evolutions and, with the help and guidance of the Export Control directives & method requirements manager, to:
Contribute to the definition of External Requirement Documents (ERDs) on behalf of Airbus if required to secure company strategy;
Identify, communicate and cascade within Airbus, applicable requirements from ERDs, e.g. regulations;
Check compliance of Applicable External Requirements "AER";
Report at corporate level on the deployment and operation of the ERDs within Airbus.
You will be responsible for the coordination, assesment and consolidation of the inputs with regard to export control and sanctions regulations requirements and ensure they are up to date and communicated to the relevant stakeholders.
Beyond the required consolidation and diffusion of regular regulatory watch reports to the export control community and relevant stakeholders, you will be in charge of the analyses with the help of export control’s teams and with the support of the relevant functions the impact of the regulations on airbus activities. Moreove you will support the export control teams in order to implement the associated relevant processes and mitigation measures.
In coordination with public affairs you will be able to represent Airbus in trade associations and state/industries regulatory working groups. In support of the Head of Airbus Export Control, the Divisions Head of Export Control and the Head of Export Control Programme Office, you coordinate and ensures consistency of the divisions' participation and line to take in above-mentioned working groups.
Within the Global Export Control Solutions’ (GECS) - IT project developed to ensure Airbus digital compliance to export control -, in close coordination with the GECS leader and the Export Control directives & method requirements manager, you contribute to ensure the multi functional teams dedicated to the project are aligned with the updated external requirements.
B - Risks and opportunities management
With regards to risks and opportunities management, the "Export Control Advisor - Regulatory and Risk Management" is responsible to assess and report the Export Control Programme Office owned risks and opportunities in the Enterprise Risk Management system (ERM) as the Export Control Programme Office Risk Focal point.
In support to the Ethic & Compliance ERM Officer, you will be responsible for surveying, consolidating, streamlining and formalising within the ERM the risk and opportunities assessment and management of the divisions and programme office as ERM Coordinator for export control.
In addition to your role, you contribute actively in fostering the Risk & Opportunities management culture within the Export Control Programme Office and export control broader teams. You notably supports the GECS’ risks and opportunities assessment/management governance and culture.
And more generally, execute such other functions related to the programme as are delegated by the HO Export Control Programme.
Your boarding pass:
Master Degree in Law / Political science / Geopolitics (or equivalent)
Confirmed experience (more than 7 years in the field) working in a multinational, industrial environment, with a strong experience in export control and sanctions
An excellent knowledge up to date of main US, UK, EU export control and sanctions regimes (and governmental authorities), and good notions with regards to major emerging regulations (China, India, …);
Strong expertise or solid notions of Risk and opportunities management methodologies;
Ability to communicate and coordinate (transversal management) cross functional teams in a fast-paced and demanding environment;
Excellent writing and analytical skills required to draft clear reports;
Ability to appropriately manage stakeholders and involve others in consultations and decisions;
Capacity to significantly evolve in key leadership and communication skills to build trustful relationships with divisions and subsidiaries;
Ability to multitask and prioritize; regular international travel and on-site missions
Fluent in English; understanding of French, German or Spanish is a plus.
