The Role
As an Automotive Engineer, you'll have a role that's out of the ordinary. You will oversee the design of a new vehicle that will service the British Military.
Day to day, you'll be responsible for developing, designing and implementing new vehicle design solutions in the interest of meeting current and future customer requirements.
- Developing quality requirements to underpin project delivery activities
- Creating concept designs and detailed blueprints
- Component and system development
- Testing, Analysis and Prototyping
- Managing project budgets
This role is full time / permanent. The successful candidate can be based at any compliant Babcock site within the UK, with a hybrid working from home arrangements. There is a requirement to travel to other sites.
Experience required of the Automotive Engineer
- Background in Automotive Engineering / Design
- Experience of whole vehicle design
- Knowledge of industry specific standards and regulations
- Leadership skills and experience of leading a technical team
- Proficiency in a CAD software e.g. AutoCAD, Solidworks etc
Qualifications for the Automotive Engineer
- Degree qualified in automotive engineering or other relevant subject
The successful candidate must be able to achieve SC security clearance for this role.
