EOS is a University Research Institute in Nanyang Technological University Singapore that conducts fundamental research on earthquakes, volcanic eruptions, tsunamis, and climate change in and around Southeast Asia, towards safer and more sustainable societies.

EOS maintains a regional network of geophysical observation stations in collaboration with neighboring countries in Southeast Asia, that are supported by the EOS Centre for Geohazard Observations, as well as a Remote Sensing Lab (EOS-RS). The successful candidate will under the supervision of Associate Professor Steve Yim to investigate the interactions between climate and air quality, and the resultant impacts on public health and ecosystem. The team's ongoing research is to develop, advance and utilize the state-of-the-art multi-scale atmospheric models, along with measurement and statistical approaches, to understand the mechanisms that drive the climate-air quality interactions, and evaluate the impacts on human exposure, mosquito abundance and soil acidity.

The available position is in the Chemical Engineering Department of Northeastern University (Boston Campus). • Establish ML and XAI based models explaining structural aspects of biomolecular systems
• Design and implement research ideas independently and in association with the supervisor and other collaborators
• Perform simulations and analyze large-scale data utilizing robust statistical methods

About our lab: The overarching goal in our laboratory is to develop novel computer-driven solutions to glycoprotein-based biomedical challenges. Two independent thrusts targeting viral vaccine engineering and biomaterial design form the current research focus. This is a cross-disciplinary group at the interface of Chemical Engineering, Biochemistry, Physics and Computer Science. All research is expected to occur in association with other experimental collaborators (both intra- and extramural).

Qualifications:

Must have a Ph.D. or equivalent; be able to undertake substantially full-time research or scholarship; work under the supervision of a senior scholar. This position requires excellent communication skills, both interpersonal and scientific, oral, and written. Strong background and experience with applications of machine learning (especially Explainable Artificial Intelligence – XAI) is required. All candidates should provide a detailed CV, research statement and contact information of three or more academic/professional references.

Preferred Qualifications:

Candidates should be enthusiastic about working in a fast-paced, interdisciplinary, and multi-project environment. The successful candidate will be able to work both independently and collaboratively. Expertise in any of the following techniques in addition to those mentioned above is additional asset: all-atom and coarse-grained molecular dynamics simulations, multi-scale approaches, enhanced sampling methods, Markov processes, knowledge in the field of glycosciences.

Institute For Digital Molecular Analytics & Science (IDMxS) is a unique interdisciplinary Research Centre of Excellence (RCE), funded by National Research Foundation, Ministry of Education (Singapore), Nanyang Technological University and National University of Singapore. Hosted by NTU, IDMxS is focused on development of core science to drive a paradigm shift in molecular detection and analysis to link the biomolecular world of life with the networked world of technology.

IDMxS is looking for a highly experienced and motivated individual to join us as a Research Fellow on further develop translational potential of IDMxS technologies within the institute.

• Drive assay development for digital detection technologies, proof-of-concept and participate in prototype design and testing

Job Requirements:

• Experienced in digital PCR / quantitative PCR assay development is desired

The School of Materials Science & Engineering (MSE) invites applications for the position of Research Associate/Research Fellow.

The Research Associate/Research Fellow will help advance foundational knowledge in making polymer composite formulations for high performance stretchable waveguides. The Research Associate/Research Fellow will employ knowledge in polymer chemistry, composites and optics to develop novel polymer formulations.

Key Responsibilities: 

• Develop specialized polymer formulations with high stretchability, transparency, and low optical loss

• Utilize 3D printing technology to create waveguides from the developed polymer formulations

• Conduct comprehensive experiments to optimize polymer properties for waveguide applications

• Collaborate with the team to integrate formulated polymers into functional waveguide structures

• Characterize optical properties and ensure structural integrity of fabricated waveguides

Job Requirements: 

• Minimally Master’s degree in polymer science, polymer engineering, or materials science

• Applicants with PhD preferred

• 4-5 years of research experience in polymer-related fields, inclusive of PhD study period

• Expertise in polymer synthesis, particularly UV curable formulations

• Proficiency in 3D printing techniques, especially for optical applications

• Background in optical sensor assembly and testing
