Opportunity to perform high-throughut chemical screens on cell lines and patient-derived tumor cells. We are looking to hire someone who is interested in doing wet lab experiments. Job Description

The Global Centre for Asian Women’s Health (GloW) aims to build a global research platform for transdisciplinary endeavours to address major health concerns over a woman's lifespan and across generations. Through its main hub in Singapore, the Centre will engage in multi-disciplinary research to promote women’s health, including a series of diet and lifestyle intervention studies.

Purpose of the role

The project coordinator/manager will play a key role in dietary intervention studies by actively managing and coordinating diet and lifestyle intervention studies in GloW. Responsibilities include development, implementation and monitoring of meal plans, educating participants as needed, collecting dietary data, and performing administrative duties to ensure the studies’ success and compliance. The staff will work closely with Principal Investigators of intervention studies, collaborate closely with the research team, food service team, and other relevant stakeholders, as well as undertake other ad-hoc responsibilities assigned by the Centre’s Director as needed.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

The staff will hold a few key responsibilities, including

(1) Intervention study coordinator:

• Recruit and interview study participants for the intervention study
• Implement methods for collecting dietary data, including detailed food intake records and compliance monitoring.
• Conduct regular assessments to evaluate participants' nutritional status and document any deviations from prescribed diets.

(2) Nutritional Intervention study monitoring:

• Monitor food/nutrient composition for meals developed for intervention study
• Collaborate with the research team to integrate nutritional components into the study design and ensure alignment with research objectives.

   Ensure that samples are correctly handled and maintained for future analysis.
   
4. Equipment Maintenance:Clean, maintain, and troubleshoot laboratory equipment.
   Ensure that all instruments are calibrated and in good working condition.
   Assist in the setup and disassembly of experiments and equipment.
   
5. Data Management:Record, compile, and process data accurately.
   Prepare reports or assist in preparing research summaries for review.
   Enter experimental data into databases or spreadsheets.
   
6. Safety and Compliance:Follow laboratory safety protocols and adhere to safety standards to ensure a safe working environment.
   Handle hazardous materials and chemicals safely, with proper disposal practices.
   Assist in the maintenance of lab documentation and compliance with regulations.
   
7. Inventory and Supply Management:Monitor inventory levels of laboratory supplies, chemicals, and equipment.
   Order new supplies when needed and manage stock to avoid shortages.
   

Skills and Qualifications:

• Educational Requirements: Minimum high school graduate in science stream. or equivalent is typically required; however, a postsecondary degree or certification in a scientific field (e.g., biology, chemistry, or laboratory technology) may be preferred. Retired personnal are welcome too.
• Technical Skills: Familiarity with laboratory instruments and techniques is important. Basic computer skills for data entry and analysis are also necessary.
• Attention to Detail: Accurate data recording and adherence to protocols are essential.
• Communication: Ability to communicate in English.
