You will be responsible for harvesting of tissues, providing histological examination of frozen and paraffin-embedded material, and overseeing the day-to-day tissue harvesting from operation theatres. You will assist the supervisor in research services to the researchers.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Biospecimen processing such as collection, processing of blood, inventory stock taking and administrative support.
- Tissue bank procesing and ensure compliance to bio-safety procedures and IRB regulations for the handling of human tissues.
- Consent taking.
- Oversee the processing, storage and retrieval of harvested materials.
- Work with the tissue bank committee and colleagues to implement cluster-wide policies & procedures governing tissue collection and handling.
- Assist in NCCS-SB application regards to researcher study and criteria of the project.
- Administrative support for the related research services.
Requirements:
- Medical degree (MD or equivalent) from a reputable medical school.
- Completed an approved residency in anatomic pathology and experience in clinical pathology will be a bonus.
- At least 3 years of relevant clinical experience in anatomic pathology.
- Laboratory experience in specimen cut-up and histological techniques such as tissue processing, microtomy and staining.
- Experience in immunohistochemistry and molecular biology will be a bonus.
- Good working knowledge of local regulatory requirements.
- Meticulous, with excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Good communication, organizational and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to complete tasks independently with minimal supervision.
- Ability to work independently and make reliable recommendations and diagnoses.
- Ability to work on multiple projects and interact effectively with clinicians, researchers, academicians, administrators, and external and internal stakeholders.
