An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Specialist Research Nurse to join the Oxford Bone Marrow Transplant (BMT) team at the Churchill Hospital.

The Senior Specialist Nurse will lead the nursing team to provide expert nursing care to patients referred to the Oxford BMT service contributing to this within the BMT pathway through management of their own caseload.

The post holder will work in collaboration with the Haematology Trial Unit , which is involved in a wide spectrum of clinical research relating to blood disorders including advanced cellular therapeutics. The team works in collaboration with academic and commercial partners/other funding bodies and is responsible for the delivery of the phase 1-3 haematology research portfolio.

The Specialist Research Nurse will
• Responsibility for operational management of the clinical research delivery team

Responsibility for strategic leadership of clinical research delivery team

Responsibility for the management of the trial portfolio and own allocated portfolio of studies and study participants including, as required:

Ø Leading and co-ordinating a portfolio of studies

Ø Planning

In summary, the post holder will provide expert nursing care to patients enrolled into clinical trials at the Oxford BMT Research service.

Specifically, this would include:


• Be responsible for assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient care during participation in cell therapy clinical research trials (eg bone marrow transplant or CAR-T therapy trials)

• Manage own clinical workload and co-ordinate allocated clinical trials and research studies.

• Practice in compliance with the code of professional conduct, being responsible and accountable for their decisions, actions, or omissions, taking responsibility for clinical decisions where competent to do so.

• Demonstrate expert knowledge and skills in the management of clinical research participants.

• Utilise effective communication skills through a variety of methods, supporting participants in decision making in relation to study entry and participation.

• Deliver effective communication skills with colleagues both internally and/or externally, in verbal, non-verbal and written communication methods, adapting to changing parameters as required, which includes thorough accurate documentation in patient records as required. To help organise and facilitate co-design workshops with community groups and individuals with lived experience of psychosis from Bangladeshi, Black African, and Black Caribbean backgrounds. Screening and recruitment of patients diagnosed with psychosis and patients at ultra high risk pf psychosis. This will involve speaking to referrers regularly, attending clinical team meetings, visiting community mental health teams, hospital wards, as well as home based treatment teams. There will be monthly recruitment targets for all studies. The post-holder will be joining a team of research assistants to help meet these targets. Completing eligibility screening assessments and seeking informed consent from patients. Carrying out the assessments for the trials. The trial patients will be assessed on a range of measures at a number of time points for each study. You will need to arrange these interviews and administer clinical interviews, assessment tasks, and self-report questionnaires. Participants will be seen in clinic settings or at home across a large geographical area. Patients are seen in multiple NHS trusts including: Oxford Health, Northamptonshire Healthcare, Berkshire Healthcare, and Central Northwest London (Milton Keynes). Overview of the Role: We are seeking a Postdoctoral Research Scientist to join Dr. Becky Carlyle's lab as part of a collaborative project led by Professor Paul Harrison (Oxford Psychiatry). The project involves partnerships with Professor Carol Robinson (Oxford Chemistry), Dr. Thomas Hyde (Lieber Institute for Brain Development), and Professor Gary Stephens (Reading Pharmacology). The ideal candidate will have experience with membrane protein enrichment and preparation for mass-spectrometry analysis. A key focus will be developing assays to detect and quantify calcium channel conformations and interactomes, contributing to research on psychiatric disease mechanisms within a vibrant, international team. This is a 3-year position, available immediately.

Key Responsibilities:
Optimize cellular and molecular approaches for membrane protein enrichment
Develop and implement mass-spectrometry assays for protein analysis

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a new Research Nurse to come and work within the Cardiovascular Research team. The post holder will work as part of the Research Team, predominately within the Oxford Heart Centre and the University Department of Cardiovascular Medicine, who are involved in a wide spectrum of clinical research ranging from observational studies to early phase clinical studies and trials, to large multi-centre randomised trials. Key roles include:
• Working with Principal Investigators (PIs) and their teams to manage and co-ordinate the processes and care involved with patients participating in clinical research studies.
• Deliver study information to patients throughout the trial period, including providing advice, support and direct care to patients and their families involved in clinical research studies.

An opportunity has arisen for anenthusiastic, motivated Research Nurse to come and work within the Cardiovascular Research team. The post holder will work predominantly within the Oxford Heart Centre on a variety of clinical research studies, ranging from observational studies to large multi-centre randomised trials.

The Cardiovascular Team is a team of dedicated nurses, coordinators and data coordinators who work together to provide a quality service for the rolling program of cardiovascular research studies, trials and projects undertaken within the OUH.

We are looking for a registered nurse with excellent clinical and organisational skills, who is able to manage a patient caseload. They will need excellent interpersonal skills and an ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team. Research experience would be an advantage but not essential as training will be given.

The post holder will have ownership over a number of studies and will be the initial point of contact for patients on these studies. The post holder will be supported by the wider research team lead by the Lead Cardiac Research Nurse Manager and Principle Investigators.

The post is a 12 month fixed term contract.

Overview of the role:
We are seeking a Postdoctoral Research Scientist to join Prof Molly Stevens’s lab at the Kavli Institute for Nanoscience Discovery. The ideal candidate will be a highly motivated postdoctoral researcher with strong expertise in organic chemistry who is also a confident self-starter, a collaborative team player, and demonstrate a proven track record of first-author publications in peer-reviewed journals.

In this role, you will develop a diagnostic platform applying the in-house developed technique SPARTA™ to the analysis of extracellular vesicles as potential disease biomarkers. The post will involve a range of nanobiomaterial characterisation techniques and the application of multivariate data analysis methods for sample classification.

This post is available from January 2025 for a fixed-term of 12 months, with the possibility of part-time appointments being considered.

Key responsibilities:
• Develop Single Particle Automated Raman Trapping Analysis (SPARTA™) as a non-invasive disease diagnostic technique based on EVs as biomarkers.
• Develop a deep understanding of EV biochemistry, Raman fingerprints and surface protein expression.
• Evaluate the performance of the technique with model systems and patient samples.
• Undertake the associated data analysis and interpretation, ensuring validity and reliability of data at all times, including either developing or liaising with others to use chemometrics, ML/AI algorithms and/or multivariate analysis.
• Manage your own research activities, including administrative tasks associated with the project.
• Actively participate in the multidisciplinary environment of the Stevens Group and collaborate with external research groups.

Selection criteria:
• Hold, or be near to completion of, a PhD/DPhil in materials science, chemistry, physics, nanotechnology, or related field.

We are seeking an enthusiastic and self-motivated Research Nurse to join our team of research nurses working within a multidisciplinary team in The Nuffield Department of Orthopaedics, Rheumatology and Musculoskeletal Sciences and based at the Nuffield Orthopaedic Hospital Oxford. SRG are looking for a Research Assistant to join a Global Pharmaceutical company based in Oxford.

The successful candidate will be a lab-based individual who will be part of a team responsible for lab support activities including cell sample preparation and plasmid DNA preparation. Reporting into the Synergy Team Leader, the role holder will undertake a wide range of activities, be involved with continuous improvement (CI) activities, and have opportunities for training and development. The role will be pivotal in ensuring high standards of quality and HSE standards.

Key Responsibilities will include:

• Cell sample preparation, including the loading of samples onto LC and/or MS
• Supporting in vitro labs with cell sample preparation for PCR, qPCR, gDNA extractions
• Plasmid DNA preparation (Miniprep & maxiprep kits)
• Making up agar plates, including plating of bacteria and colony picking
• Virus production and transduction
• Results analysis and data entry into LIMS
• Back up for first level technical support
• Consumable stock control within labs using Kanban systems and lean practises
• Vial labelling and aliquoting as necessary
• Takes active role in CI and sustainability activities, e.g., Kanban stock levels, 5S, recycling
• Takes active role in general lab housekeeping
• Involved with general housekeeping shutdowns
