To help organise and facilitate co-design workshops with community groups and individuals with lived experience of psychosis from Bangladeshi, Black African, and Black Caribbean backgrounds. Screening and recruitment of patients diagnosed with psychosis and patients at ultra high risk pf psychosis. This will involve speaking to referrers regularly, attending clinical team meetings, visiting community mental health teams, hospital wards, as well as home based treatment teams. There will be monthly recruitment targets for all studies. The post-holder will be joining a team of research assistants to help meet these targets. Completing eligibility screening assessments and seeking informed consent from patients. Carrying out the assessments for the trials. The trial patients will be assessed on a range of measures at a number of time points for each study. You will need to arrange these interviews and administer clinical interviews, assessment tasks, and self-report questionnaires. Participants will be seen in clinic settings or at home across a large geographical area. Patients are seen in multiple NHS trusts including: Oxford Health, Northamptonshire Healthcare, Berkshire Healthcare, and Central Northwest London (Milton Keynes). Assessments will be carried out blind (i.e. you should not know which condition thepatients have been randomised to). You will need to remind staff and patients not to tell you the allocation. And you will need to report if you have become unblinded. It will be crucial to maintain very high follow-up rates for the trial participants, meaning you will need excellent engagement skills. Good record-keeping will be needed, including updating medical records with trial progress and managing recruitment databases. The ideal candidate will have experience with membrane protein enrichment and preparation for mass-spectrometry analysis. A key focus will be developing assays to detect and quantify calcium channel conformations and interactomes, contributing to research on psychiatric disease mechanisms within a vibrant, international team. This is a 3-year position, available immediately.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a new Research Nurse to come and work within the Cardiovascular Research team. The post holder will work as part of the Research Team, predominately within the Oxford Heart Centre and the University Department of Cardiovascular Medicine, who are involved in a wide spectrum of clinical research ranging from observational studies to early phase clinical studies and trials, to large multi-centre randomised trials. Key roles include:
• Working with Principal Investigators (PIs) and their teams to manage and co-ordinate the processes and care involved with patients participating in clinical research studies.

An opportunity has arisen for anenthusiastic, motivated Research Nurse to come and work within the Cardiovascular Research team. The post holder will work predominantly within the Oxford Heart Centre on a variety of clinical research studies, ranging from observational studies to large multi-centre randomised trials.

The Cardiovascular Team is a team of dedicated nurses, coordinators and data coordinators who work together to provide a quality service for the rolling program of cardiovascular research studies, trials and projects undertaken within the OUH.

We are looking for a registered nurse with excellent clinical and organisational skills, who is able to manage a patient caseload. They will need excellent interpersonal skills and an ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team. Research experience would be an advantage but not essential as training will be given.

The post holder will have ownership over a number of studies and will be the initial point of contact for patients on these studies. The post holder will be supported by the wider research team lead by the Lead Cardiac Research Nurse Manager and Principle Investigators.

The post is a 12 month fixed term contract.

We are seeking a Postdoctoral Research Scientist to join Prof Molly Stevens’s lab at the Kavli Institute for Nanoscience Discovery. The ideal candidate will be a highly motivated postdoctoral researcher with strong expertise in organic chemistry who is also a confident self-starter, a collaborative team player, and demonstrate a proven track record of first-author publications in peer-reviewed journals.

In this role, you will develop a diagnostic platform applying the in-house developed technique SPARTA™ to the analysis of extracellular vesicles as potential disease biomarkers. The post will involve a range of nanobiomaterial characterisation techniques and the application of multivariate data analysis methods for sample classification.

This post is available from January 2025 for a fixed-term of 12 months, with the possibility of part-time appointments being considered.

Key responsibilities:
• Develop Single Particle Automated Raman Trapping Analysis (SPARTA™) as a non-invasive disease diagnostic technique based on EVs as biomarkers.
• Develop a deep understanding of EV biochemistry, Raman fingerprints and surface protein expression.
• Evaluate the performance of the technique with model systems and patient samples.
• Undertake the associated data analysis and interpretation, ensuring validity and reliability of data at all times, including either developing or liaising with others to use chemometrics, ML/AI algorithms and/or multivariate analysis.

Postdoctoral Research Associate in Translational Biology (175149)

Grade 7: Salary in the range of £37,524-£45,763 per annum
We are seeking to appoint a highly qualified and dedicated Postdoctoral Research Associate in Translational Biology to join our research team at Oxford Translational Myeloma Centre which is based at Botnar Research Centre, Nuffield Department of Orthopaedics, Rheumatology and Musculoskeletal Sciences (NDORMS), Oxford
As a Postdoctoral Research Associate in Translational Biology you will lead laboratory experiments and the computational analysis and interpretation of data with the goal of discovering biological pathways, patterns and genes that are responsible for the drivers of drug response or resistance in multiple myeloma. You will specifically interrogate multiple Myeloma cell lines and immune cells for studying the mechanism of action of epigenetic therapy in Multiple Myeloma. In partnership with industrial and academic collaborators you will analyse patient derived genomic, immune, pharmacokinetic and pharmacodynamic data to build hypothesis and test them in laboratory models. You will contribute ideas for new research projects, collaborate in the preparation of scientific reports and journal articles and act as a source of information and advice to other members of the group.

You will hold a PhD/DPhil (or near completion) in a biomedical discipline with direct relevance to molecular techniques and assays together with experience to undertake cell based analysis of drug activities. Ability to develop novel assays for testing compounds and their mechanisms based on genetics, OMICs and other assays is essential for success in this project. We are looking for a candidate who would be able to deliver high quality research outputs, as demonstrated by a strong publication record in high profile scientific journals. Familiarity with the existing literature and research in the field of Myeloma or cancer biology together with passion for problem-solving desirable but not essential. Experience in drug related research, strong publication track record and experience of presenting work at meetings and cross-disciplinary collaborative experience are desirable.

This is a full-time fixed-term initial appointment for 2 years.
