What skills and experience we're looking for
This is an excellent opportunity for an inspirational and forward-thinking qualified teacher to join our thriving Science department.
At Homewood School we encourage the use of a range of innovative teaching techniques and the successful candidate will join a collaborative and committed staff team who share a vision to succeed. In our modern facilities, our large science department teaches a variety of subjects and qualifications to develop our students up to Key Stage 5. Through a shared focus on teaching and learning, you will be a team player with the right attributes and focus for the day to day pressures that teaching brings.
Whether you are at the start of your career or an experienced teacher you will bring your enthusiasm for your subject and your ability to inspire and transform the lives of young people. Our additional facilities are excellent; with a School Farm to promote conservation work, green issues, environmental science and curriculum enrichment. The department also has a rich programme of trips, visits and extra-curricular activities.
It’s a competitive market out there and we want to know what it is that makes you the one for us. Detail your successes in your completed application form and supporting letter and get us excited about you!
What the school offers its staff
In return, you will enjoy a unique working environment in the beautiful town of Tenterden in the heart of the Weald of Kent. We invest in our staff and you will be given a full induction programme and the support you require to progress wherever you are in your career. All teaching staff are provided with an IT device, discounts and offers with Kent Rewards, RAC, enhanced pension contributions and there is a nursery based on the school site which offers discounts to Tenterden Schools Trust Staff.
Commitment to safeguarding
Homewood School and Sixth Form Centre is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. Through the training of our staff, we are fully committed to ensuring that effective safeguarding procedures are in place to support families, students and staff at school. We make every effort to ensure that students are provided with a safe and secure learning environment. We enforce a school safeguarding policy for permanent and temporary staff members, volunteers and all school visitors.
