The Role 

At CoStar Group, the Field Research team plays a critical role in capturing data that supports all CoStar Group products.  Whether capturing information around a new state of the art office building or canvassing an existing neighborhood, our research brings significant value to the real estate industry.  Reporting to the Senior Director of Field Operations, we are looking for a Director of Field Research who will lead and inspire a management team responsible for a growing team of world class researchers.  This individual’s mandate will be to ensure timely delivery of quality content consisting of data and imagery across our products. They will need to bring a strong operational mindset and leadership to the position. This role will be based out of our Richmond, VA office.  

Responsibilities: 

• Lead a team of field managers and individual contributors with a strong operational mindset to ensure individual metrics and quality standards are being met. 

• Develop and recruit strong operational leadership to support the growing organization. 

• Coach and develop managers and individual researchers to drive success.  

• Lead on-boarding and training programs that focus on driving integration of new team members and the on-going development of researchers and managers. 

• Ensure operational metrics are being met by teams and provide feedback to the team.  

• Strategize to overcome operational challenges and provide on-going and real time feedback to managers and team members.  

• Focus on continuous improvement of workflows and processes to drive optimization and innovation. 

• Collaborate with Product, Research, and IT departments to deliver the most accurate data possible on behalf of our customers. 

Qualifications:  

• Bachelors required and Masters preferred. 

• 5-8 years of experience leading large-scale dispersed teams (50+) against deadlines and deliverables 

• Proven track record driving accountability with managers and leading in a metric driven organization. 

• Demonstrated ability to operate in fast paced environment with high creative and delivery standards. 

• Ability to collaborate across functional areas to deliver assignments. 

• Passion and interest in real estate as plus
