The National Science and Media Museum (NSMM) will be reopening in January 2025 as Bradford becomes UK City of Culture 2025. The museum temporarily closed in June 2023 to undergo a once-in-a-generation transformation with huge changes through a £6 million capital project called 'Sound and Vision', including two new permanent galleries, a new passenger lift and improvements to the main entrance, thanks to support from The National Lottery Heritage Fund.

To support our Operations teams in delivering a world-class welcome when we reopen, we are recruiting a full-time Duty Manager at NSMM on a permanent basis.

As Duty Manager, you will be responsible for the day-to-day running of the Museum, ensuring the health and safety of all our public spaces and supporting the front facing teams to deliver a high-quality visitor experience.

Working within a team of Duty Managers, you will be jointly responsible for the line management of our Visitor Experience team.

About the role

Leading by example, you will maintain the standards fitting for a national cultural site by conducting regular walk arounds, engage with staff and visitors, and use your problem-solving skills and flexible thinking to take control of incidents as they arise throughout the day. About the role

As Senior Communications Manager you will be leading the activity of the NRM and Locomotion communications team, with responsibility for delivering the communications strategy and achieving ambitious visitor numbers for both sites.

You will lead these teams in delivering engaging communications designed to celebrate a number of exciting events happening in 2025. These include the NRM's 50th birthday, the reopening of Station Hall and the bicentenary of the railways to be celebrated across both of our sites. In addition to these events, you will help to drive commercial return for our paid for offers and programmes including Wonderlab: The Bramall Gallery and the Flying Scotsman VR Experience.

Your role will be essential in setting a culture of excellence and quality in all that we do and ensuring that internal comms are in line with expectations. You will work collaboratively with web and digital teams to align with museum objectives and messages to produce joined up comms campaigns across marketing, press, digital and social. You will use insight and data to continuously improve and evaluate all campaign outcomes.

About you

Joining us, you will have significant transferable skills that are relevant to a communications leadership role or existing experience in comms leadership, marketing management or a press/PR management role. You will have a positive and proactive approach to leading teams, collaborating with others, promoting new ways of thinking and building positive relationships across a large organisation.

Crucially, you will be a good communicator with the ability to write effective, interesting and persuasive copy. You will have experience of planning and delivering integrated communications campaigns and delivering an increase in footfall or awareness raising campaigns, in addition to experience using a CRM system and email marketing.

What skills and experience we're looking for

• Qualified Teacher Status.

• Successful record of teaching Mathematics including excellent exam results at KS4 or KS5.

What skills and experience we're looking for

We are currently looking to recruit a Curriculum Leader of Enterprise and Computer Science.

The successful candidate will lead a strong department with an excellent team of staff. Applicants should be outstanding teachers who are passionate about the subject and have proven ability to raise levels of progress and attainment, with pupils of all abilities, in both key stages.

You will be a dynamic, talented, and enthusiastic professional who can lead the Enterprise and Computer Science team. You will have a proven track record of securing successful student outcomes and creating a culture of learning where every pupil can achieve to, and beyond, their potential. You will be an outstanding teacher, and leader of learning, who also has experience in developing the potential of other teachers. Leading a dedicated, hardworking, and supportive team, you will make a substantial contribution to the strategic development of the department and the school.
