Job Responsibilities

• Plan for quality assurance activities with timelines and effort estimates and manage resources to support testing demand.
• Discuss and work with System Analysts & development teams and SMBC to understand the testing requirements to determine testing coverage and collect sample test data (if available).
• Review documentations created by QA Team Lead, Senior System Analyst and/or vendor to ensure quality.
• Track testing activities against test plans and track defects (Log Defect with assigned Severity, Retest and Close Defect) discovered to resolution. Report statistics and statuses to PM.
• Provide guidance and mentorship to the team and ensure process and compliance is met. Provide direction, support and set performance goals to the team.
• Timely escalate issues to manager.
• Support on hiring matters such as interviews where required.
• Onboard new joiners to their roles.
• Coach and guide team members on their jobs.
• Manage and motivate team performance, guided by performance management framework.

Job Requirements

• Diploma/ bachelor’s degree in computer science.
• Min. 10 years' experiencing working as Quality Assurance Analyst/ Tester in a bank, FI or a consultancy company.
• Familiar with defect management tools.
• Ability to understand technical jargons and some understanding of technology environment setup.
• Possess strong planning skill and is positive and proactive in his/her approach.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal and presentation skills.

The National Science and Media Museum (NSMM) will be reopening in January 2025 as Bradford becomes UK City of Culture 2025. To support our Operations teams in delivering a world-class welcome when we reopen, we are recruiting a full-time Duty Manager at NSMM on a permanent basis.

As Duty Manager, you will be responsible for the day-to-day running of the Museum, ensuring the health and safety of all our public spaces and supporting the front facing teams to deliver a high-quality visitor experience.

Working within a team of Duty Managers, you will be jointly responsible for the line management of our Visitor Experience team.

Responsibilities

• Provide L2 support for banking application software. In the event of errors detected by the bank's operations department (L1 support), you will collaborate with the outsourcing vendor, the bank IT department, and, if necessary, the head office counterpart, working overtime as required after business hours (including late nights/early mornings), weekends, and national holidays to identify and implement recovery solutions.
• Take leadership in projects initiated by the bank, such as user-requested change requests or addressing End of Life issues concerning operating systems, database management software, and hardware.
• Oversee team members, multiple vendors, and service providers to ensure all tasks are completed according to plan.
• Manage projects by resolving issues, overseeing vendors and resources, adhering to schedules, and preparing reports for management, the bank, and the head office as needed for approval.
• Monitor and evaluate projects to ensure compliance with established guidelines and standards while strictly adhering to Mizuho's development policies and procedures.
• Utilize your knowledge and experience to communicate in-house rules and guidelines to project members while coordinating all processes to ensure smooth progress for the bank, developers, relevant teams at the head office, and vendors.
• Perform any other ad hoc tasks as assigned.

Requirements

1) Years of Experience:

• At least 3 years of working experience as an application software engineer in the banking IT sector.
• Developing experience of bank application with high level robustness

2) Education: University / Polytechnic

3) Other Requirements / Skills:

We are seeking an IT application engineer with the following experience, knowledge, and skills:

• Working experience as an application development engineer in the banking IT sector.
• Developing experience of bank application with high level robustness.
• Knowledge and experience in Programming Languages (Java, Shell, etc.), RDBMS (Oracle, SQL Server, etc.), and OS (Windows, Linux).
• Knowledge and experience in HULFT, MQ, SFTP, VMware technology, or network administration is advantageous.
• Knowledge and experience of project management
• Knowledge and experience of SDLC, waterflow system development, ITSM.
• Knowledge and experience of software testing methodology
• Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills in English. The ability to effectively interact across all levels, including the bank IT department, bank user departments, outsourcing vendors, and members of the head office, is essential for success in this role.
• Coordination skills to manage various parties, including both local and international clients, vendors, and counterparts.
• Fluent Japanese language skills (Speaking/Reading/Writing) are preferable, as applications are linked with systems in Japan. The development and maintenance of these projects require close collaboration with Japanese development teams and members, primarily through email.
