Provide professional and clinical leadership and ensure delivery of high quality care and clinical research. Coordinates complex research studies using expert clinical and research knowledge. Continually evaluates the quality of the care given, regularly assessing the needs of the patients/participants and effects change required to ensure their safety. In conjunction with the Principal Investigator and Lead Research Nurse/Nurse Manager, manages, coordinate, and organises the timely delivery of research projects. Identifying potential barriers to recruitment and strategies to monitor effective use of resources and the timely delivery of research targets. Manage an allocated team of clinical research nurses on a day-to-day basis, monitoring their performance in accordance with BSUH NHS Trust Individual Appraisal Programme. Act as professional lead, resource and role model providing advice and support to all staff working in the research area to promote best practice, including: medical students, nurses, and doctors. Actively support the clinical areas, R&I and the Trust in the provision of high quality, modern, dynamic and patient centred research in accordance with the Trusts True North programme and the R&I strategy. Deputises for Lead Research Nurse as required.
