• Processes samples of blood, tissue, organ, or other body fluids or substances according to standard operating procedures.

• Serves as Veterinary Medical Unit (VMU) Supervisor, overseeing the operations of all Veterans Affairs (VA) Boston animal facilities (Jamaica Plain and West Roxbury).
• Completely responsible for the management of the Veterinary Medical Unit (VMU), reporting to the Deputy Associate Chief of Staff (D-ACOS).
• There are approximately fifty (50) active protocols, and thirty (30) Principal Investigators utilize the Veterinary Medical Unit, using different species of animals for biomedical research studies in many scientific fields.
• Controls the animal population level by setting limitations, approving new animal purchases, and working with investigators to ensure population levels are consistent with the facility's ability to provide proper care.
• Ensures the proper transfer and transport of animals per regulations and guidelines.
• Maintains the barriers necessary for the prevention of cross contamination and the restrictions, separations, and precautions necessary to maintain a virus antibody-free facility.
• May order disposal, quarantine, or other measures as necessary, and may restrict the purchase of animals from sources found to be unreliable regarding the condition of animals.
• Performs other duties assigned.

Administrative

• Works with other department management to ensure that the Research Section operates in an effective, efficient, and professional manner.

• Provides ongoing budget vs. actual revenue and expense variance analysis through review of both standard reports and reports specifically for project as assigned

The Role

As a Field Research Manager, you will be responsible for managing and growing a team of full-time researchers capturing data that supports CoStar Group products.  CoStar Group researchers collect data, research, and imagery on assigned commercial properties to capture the features and highlights of each building.  CoStar Group customers rely on our team to offer content that drives real estate transactions.  As a Field Research Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring that researchers are always meeting both production and quality standards.  Meeting deadlines for our internal clients is a critical part of your responsibilities.  Working in the field with each of your researchers throughout the month to ensure best practices are implemented and provide coaching and mentoring is required. This role will be based in market.

Responsibilities:

• Build, train, mentor, and coach a growing team of 8-10 professional field researchers.
• Daily review of the team’s production measured against KPI metrics.
• Spend quality time in the field with local and regional team members to demonstrate best practice with data collection, time management and overall efficiency.
• Review incoming data and imagery to determine its quality relative to standards and guidelines.
• Provide constructive and actionable feedback to team members to meet both production and quality expectations.
• Create action plans to help team members grow, succeed, and maintain their engagement.
• Professional and effective communication with employees and internal partners to meet company objectives.
• Frequent travel within your region, and some travel to the Richmond, VA office is required.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited, not-for-profit University or College
• 3-5 years’ direct operations management of 6+ employees, virtual management a plus
• Leadership and management skills, including the ability to prioritize and control the workload of a team, coaching, and mentoring through professional development.
• Experience with creating and managing effective KPIs, along with meeting performance metrics and being results-oriented.

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Research Assistant conducts patient recruitment, administers questionnaires, abstracts medical records, maintains patient databases, performs administrative tasks, assists in grant preparation, performs literature searches and participates with the research team in preparation of data and other reports. May also assist the principal investigator with translation to Spanish or Haitian Creole, interpreting experimental results, and in preparing and writing manuscripts.

• Assists in data collection and provides feedback on study’s progress.
• Recruits subjects to participate in the study by using approved methodologies, such as, reaching to healthcare providers for referrals, visiting clinics, sending mailouts, using approved advertisements, etc.
• Conducts the enrollment of study participants, including explaining research procedures, and obtaining informed consent of subjects and/or their families.
• Schedules appointments of study participants; conducts reminder phone calls and/or sends mailouts.  Obtains and distributes payment vouchers for participant reimbursements/participation. 

Administrative

• Responsible for the administrative aspects of the research study, including: managing program records and handling communication needs of the program.
• Prepares and maintains Institutional Review Board (IRB) approvals and correspondence, including amendments and renewals as necessary.
• Perform administrative duties associated with the study’s Data Monitoring and Safety Board, tracking and reporting adverse events and collecting data specified by the DSMB. Responsible for all other administrative duties related to research activities.

EDUCATION:

The Postdoc will train under Dr. Andrew Holland and other leading scientists in the field at our global headquarters and research site in Thousand Oaks, California.

We are looking for highly talented, self-motivated individuals passionate about science and making high-impact discoveries in Oncology. The postdoctoral fellow will explore the biology underpinning oncogenic dependencies with an initial focus on dysregulated Wnt/β-Catenin signaling in colorectal cancer. The postdoctoral fellow will take a multi-disciplinary approach combining chemical biology, molecular biology, cell biology, and functional genomics.

The successful candidate will have access to Amgen’s innovative technologies and innovation and be expected to make exciting scientific contributions to the field, present at scientific conferences, and publish their work.
