Position Overview:

Paratus Sciences is looking for an R&D Project and Operations Manager to join us at our Singapore site. Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Actuarial Science, Statistics, Finance, or related field.
Professional actuarial designation (e.g., ASA, FSA, ACAS) strongly preferred.
At least 7-10 years of strong on-ground experience in a business analysis role within the insurance industry, with a focus on actuarial functions and pricing.
In-depth understanding of insurance products, including life, health, general insurance and reinsurance.
Proficiency in actuarial software (e.g., Prophet, AXIS, MG-ALFA) and data analysis tools (e.g., SQL, R, Python).
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manipulate and interpret complex data sets.
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to effectively convey technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
Proven track record of successful project delivery, including requirements gathering, solution design, and implementation.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, managing multiple priorities and deadlines effectively.

Duties:

• Work on two projects utilizing aseptic microbiological procedures to revive and cultivate bacterial strains into passages for stock culture preservation and as controls for evaluation and development of assays.

• Assist in preparing selective culture media (broth/agar plate) and confirming the media’s quality, performance, and sterility, etc.

• Assist with bacterial strain identification and testing in accordance with SOPs using techniques such as biochemical testing, DNA extraction, PCR, etc.

• Compile and document the bacterial cultures inventory to ensure in compliance with the laboratory quality assurance procedures.

• Carry out related administrative and lab duties as assigned by supervisor to maximize laboratory efficiency.

• Degree holder with background in Biological Science, Microbiology, Molecular biology or any other relevant Science disciplines. (Budget approximately up to $25/hr, negotiable depending on candidates’ experience)
