The Research Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for assessing individuals to determine their qualification for inclusion in research protocols, responsible for understanding the regulatory guidelines that guide the conduct of research. Has continuing responsibility for all the following functions, but not limited to:
- Responsible for providing local-level research to support facility research.
- Demonstrates professionalism by building, supporting, and creating alignments for data management best practices, research initiatives, and innovation through collaboration and stakeholder engagement.
- Investigate any research discrepancies in a timely manner and present findings to management.
- Responsible for screening patients for inclusion in studies, documenting this assessment, providing information relevant to the study, and obtaining informed consent.
- Follows established performance metrics and works with other staff members to identify problem areas and potential solutions.
- Meets the needs of the Veteran and as appropriate the Veteran's family, caregiver, and/or significant other, the Veteran's representative, visitors to VA facilities, all VA staff, and other customers while supporting VA missions.
- Communicates and treats the Veteran and as appropriate the Veteran's family, caregiver and/or significant other, the Veteran representatives, visitors to VA facilities, all VA staff, and other customers in a courteous, tactful, and respectful manner.
- Provides the Veteran's family, caregiver, and/or significant other, the Veteran's representative, visitors to VA facilities, all VA staff, and other customers with consistent information according to established.
- Handles conflict and problems in dealing with any consumer group appropriately and in a constructive manner.
