- Conceives, plans, coordinates, conducts, and publishes results of research within the assigned project under the broad area of food safety in vegetable production in CEA and open fields.
- Designs and implements detection systems and strategies to effectively combat and or mitigate potential food borne microbes during vegetable crop production and processing in CEA and open fields
- Works independently and cooperatively with scientists from other disciplines including horticulture, genetics, plant pathology, entomology, agricultural engineering, food quality, and molecular biology
- Develops research efforts with cooperators in the public and private sectors.
