Warehouse Manager
£40,000 to £50,000 per annum DOE
We are looking for a Permanent Warehouse Manager for our Client in Castle Cary.
The Warehouse Manager will lead the full fulfilment operation and hold responsibility for the activities of the warehouse, ensuring that quality standards are met or exceeded every time.
The Warehouse Manager will coordinate all operations and drive high standards to ensure customer satisfaction, order completeness and safe delivery.
The ideal candidate is detail focused, people oriented and able to manage multiple facets of warehouse operations simultaneously. Employing best-practice policies and procedures, the role holder will lead the teams through effective delegation and resource planning.
Responsible for delivery of the business plan - including cost monitoring and control, accurate measurement of KPI’s, their delivery against targets and continuous improvement activities to increase efficiency and lower per order costs.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure that the warehouse operates at peak efficiency with customer satisfaction the primary goal
- Ensure productivity targets and order fulfilment KPIs are achieved or bettered
- Manage workload planning by day/week/month and ensure planning for events, offers and seasonal variations are included
- Document and review standard operating procedures ensuring daily compliance for all food safety related activities
- Adopt a continuous improvement approach to warehouse operations and systems by optimising requirements, equipment utilisation, inventory, goods in procedures and IT related processes
- Train and manage the warehouse team day-to-day
- Minimise loss through accurate goods in and put away processes, pick accuracy, daily perpetual inventory checks and a complete monthly stock
- Generate reports and analyse them to determine trends
- Maintain a safe and healthy work environment by establishing and enforcing standards and procedures and by complying with legal regulations. Ensure training and refreshers are completed in good time and documented
- Administer HR related activities including rota planning, absence administration, timesheet sign off
- Raise, sign off and receipt purchase orders
- Monitor stock levels of and procure operational consumable items including packaging
- To deliver operational support activities: risk assessments, SOPs management, security, waste management & recycling, cleaning, property maintenance, equipment and consumables
- Provide means for continuous professional training and performance assessment of the team members through an effective performance assessment framework using objective setting and regular review
- Support the Head of Logistics, Deputise for them in times of absence.
The ideal candidate will have:
- Experience in logistics operations management
- Experience of scaling up operational output capacity and efficiency
- Experience of successful implementation and management of warehouse and procurement software systems.
- High confidence in working with complex processes
- Streamlining and automating for efficiency improvement and cost minimisation.
- Attention to detail
- Ability to communicate with team members and stakeholders at all levels
- FLT experience
- Microsoft office knowledge
