Position Summary: 
This Director level role will lead process optimization and change management efforts across Customer Onboarding.  The individual will partner with the Vice President of Customer Onboarding, and the Executive Director leadership team to identify and execute optimization efforts, including process, organizational design and technology initiatives.  They will work with Operations leaders to establish best-in-class processes and innovate the overall Onboarding experience for athena customers.  The Director of Process Optimization will build and lead a team of process optimization experts that can partner across Customer Onboarding to mine opportunities and drive improvements proactively. This role will work with process owners, subject matter experts and leadership to continuously improve quality standards and productivity by utilizing process improvement methodologies (i.e. Lean and Six Sigma) to measure, improve and ensure the robustness and scalability of processes.

Essential Functions (Duties and Responsibilities): 

60% Process Optimization and Change Management Execution

• Ensure the highest level of customer satisfaction by partnering with stakeholders to establish best-in-class policies and processes, identify opportunities to enhance the end-to-end customer onboarding value steam and improve the customer experience

• Provide leadership of cross-organizational transformation efforts

• Build project management capability to run programs within Customer Onboarding as well as in partnership with other Operations functions

• Work with cross functional partners to identify technology, tools and build business cases to support deployment of solutions and work simplification

• Work with the VP Customer Onboarding to manage and prioritize a portfolio of opportunities within Customer Onboarding that maximize impact and partner with IT, Operations and other cross-functional partners to deliver on the portfolio of initiatives and ensure value is tracked and captured

20% Support Customer Onboarding Operations and Partnership Collaborations

• Provide oversight and management of a portfolio of programs, projects and process improvement efforts, providing leadership and relationship management between Onboarding and other cross-organizational key stakeholders to drive optimization, efficiency and scalability

• Proactively develop and manage partnerships with Onboarding leadership, subject matter experts and key athena stakeholders to ensure consistent processes, and to provide guidance regarding the execution of changes as well as the controls necessary to sustain change 

• Analyze and measure the effectiveness of existing business processes. Develops sustainable, repeatable and quantifiable transformation efforts. 

• Research best practices within and outside the organization to establish benchmarks

• Work with leadership and finance to track spend across the Customer Onboarding operations and projects; identify and escalate any risks as needed

• Work with Human Resources to track organizational changes and trends across the Customer Onboarding team

• Provide regular status reporting on Customer Onboarding project portfolio, and identify any potential risks in delivery 

• Work with the Vice President of Customer Onboarding to support critical updates on the organization in various internal forums e.g., ELT updates.

20% Development, Management and Continuous Improvement

• Defines roles and responsibilities for Process Optimization team members (direct reports)

• Strengthen continuous improvement competencies by leading the design of training curricula, facilitating trainings and workshops, coaching, and providing constructive feedback to project teams

• Create and maintain a collaborative working relationship with leaders and provide expert guidance in the understanding and deployment of continuous improvement principles and tools

• Interpret current policies and procedures and ensure that all members of the Customer Onboarding team are performing within the parameters of those policies and procedures

• Ensure the development of documentation on standard operating procedures

Education & Experience Required 

• Bachelor of Arts or Science degree

• 10+ years’ experience in process improvement work utilizing continuous improvement methodologies (Lean, Six Sigma, Kaizen, Change management), tools, and techniques

• Project /Program Mgt. certification and/or experience, formal training or certification in process excellence tools and methodologies e.g., Six Sigma is an asset

• Experience in using data and analytics to identify opportunities and drive process automation improvements

• Experience with Lean and Six Sigma transformation philosophies, principles, tools, and techniques

• Ability to build interdependent partnerships, acting as the mediator between organizations while optimizing the value proposition 

• Analytical skills and experience leading risk-based projects

About the Role:

The Senior Manager, Institutional Business Management will play a key role in supporting the management and growth of AGF’s institutional business in North America including identifying opportunities and executing initiatives that support business transformation and aggressive growth in sales and revenues. 

This role will operate either out of our Boston or Toronto office.

 

Your Responsibilities:

• Work with the institutional sales team in North America as well as with key internal partners to identify and implement enhancements and integrations with Salesforce, key external databases to facilitate, automate and transform the institutional sales-process, ensure dashboards are relevant and up-to-date and to help integrate and transform aspects of institutional sales, sales support and business management processes.
• Routinely source and identify priority sales opportunities from both internal and external institutional databases/resources in a number of institutional and intermediary oriented channels in both U.S. and Canada
• Identify via data analytics/business intelligence high propensity institutional sales opportunities for key AGF strategies relative to key competitors globally
• Establish and manage institutional lead generation/conversion business processes and sales campaigns – identifying key prospects and working with the Marketing & Innovation, Sales Effectiveness and Sales teams as well as other key internal partners to ensure the campaigns are designed to maximize the chance of success with the most appropriate prospects included and to ensure effective, actionable campaign reporting, ensuring sales opportunities are prioritized and systematically followed-up by the relevant salesperson.
• Involvement in and/or project management of business initiatives that are designed to enhance and transform AGF’s institutional business platform and competitiveness and facilitate future business growth.  
• Work with key partners, institutional leadership team leads and the VP, U.S. Business Management to produce and where practical, automate, ongoing business reporting for Senior and Executive Management and Fund/Entity Boards around institutional business metrics and key performance indicators.
• Assist the VP, U.S. Business Management onboard and manage key external vendor relationships with external service providers to the North American institutional business including establishing KPI/reporting metrics for vendors ensuring that AGF’s initial and ongoing vendor management requirements are exceeded or met and making recommendations to select new and evolve service providers, as required.
• Act as key liaison with AGF’S Finance team and VP, U.S. Business Management in the cost management, budget forecasting and corporate planning process for AGF’s global institutional business.
• Assist the VP, U.S. Business Management in liaising with NYSE Arca and Nasdaq to ensure that ongoing reporting requirements and filings are completed, liaising with internal AGF functions and external service providers, as required.
• Regularly review U.S. fund and ETF website to ensure that sections and documents are kept up to date.
• Act as a key liaison with the AGF audit team to assist the VP, U.S. Business Management and institutional regional team heads respond to information requests and implement recommendations for audits relating to the institutional business and related legal entities.

Your Requirements:

• Undergraduate degree required in Finance, Commerce, Economics or Business oriented discipline;
• CFA charter-holder or other professional investment designations (CAIA, CIM etc.) desirable
• 5+ years of investment industry experience is ideal;
• Some experience and/or interest in a combination of public, private markets/alternative investment experience  
• Knowledge of, and interest in, investment markets, trends and products in the institutional and intermediary markets in North America is required;   
• Ability to work with other teams and functions, to deliver key initiatives under tight time deadlines, with strict attention to detail is essential;
• Strong organizational, time management, project management and analytical skills are critical to success in the role;
• Excellent communication, presentation and business writing skills;
• Knowledge of and experience with Salesforce/CRM databases, Power BI and with investment industry databases such as eVestment, Morningstar Direct, Dakota, Bloomberg etc. would be strongly desirable;

As a Business Manager on the Numeric COO team, you will be working hand-in-hand with our COO and team to support the various functions of the business unit. This team helps to organize the Investment engine objectives and collaborates with all stakeholders in Numeric and the broader Man organization. The role and responsibilities will include

• Project management – leading projects of varying size, difficulty and expertise. Projects will span departments and largely support technology and investment related initiatives but will certainly overlap with the broader central teams
• Process management – as part of the COO team it is important to take note and identify areas where business process improvements can be made and have the ability to suggest and coordinate appropriately, building an understanding of operational risk and supporting needs within that area

Job Description:

The Assistant Director is a key member of the CFR team, supporting Berklee’s efforts to build philanthropic relationships with foundations, corporations, and government agencies. The ideal candidate will have at least two years or more of relevant work experience and an established record of success securing funding from foundations and corporations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: 

• Write and edit proposals, reports, LOIs and other materials for submission of project-based and initiative-based grant applications to foundation, corporate, and government funders
• Provide timely and compelling reports to existing funders
• Supervise the Assistant Director of CFR, providing direction and support to ensure annual goals for performance and professional growth are met
• Use industry-standard resources, such as Foundation Center Directory, to research and identify funding opportunities; work closely with the Assistant Director to proactively manage research/prospect pipeline for CFR
• Prepare proposal budgets and budget narratives in collaboration with the finance office and program staff
• Interact effectively with campus leaders and program staff, as well as with foundation and corporate representatives to ensure successful proposal submissions
• Stay conversant with emerging philanthropic trends and best practices in foundation and corporate giving; recommend new ideas as appropriate to enable the team to creatively secure funding
• Exercise good time management, critical thinking and sound judgment to prioritize projects and identify viable opportunities to pursue funding
• Assist major gifts and stewardship teams in the development of proposals and stewardship reports for individual donors when appropriate (for example, for donors who give through a family foundation)
• On occasion, and at the direction of the AVP of Institutional Advancement, draft, edit, and proofread written materials and correspondence for the IA office

Knowledge and Skills Required:

• At least 5 years of experience in advancement or nonprofit administration, and a record of success in securing gifts from foundations, corporations, and individuals through effective proposal writing
• An interest in music, the performing arts, and/or education desired
• Strong written communications skills, including the ability to synthesize complex information into compelling prose and effectively tailor messaging to different audiences
• Ability to research and cultivate strong relationships among foundation, corporate, and government funding sources to continuously build a pipeline of qualified funding prospects
• Strong organizational and time management skills, with a proven ability to set priorities, bring projects to completion, and meet multiple deadlines with a high degree of autonomy
• Excellent interpersonal skills, and ability to work well with a variety of campus stakeholders
• Willingness to travel and work occasional weekends and evenings
• Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree
• Remote/hybrid work arrangements possible; ability to be on campus for key meetings and events is necessary
