Your key responsibilities:

We play a leading role in delivering the House of Commons' Strategy and corporate priorities through business and financial planning, analysing performance, and supporting the delivery of projects and programmes across Parliament. Equally important are the financial services, systems, accounting, reporting and Members' services that we provide to keep the House of Commons Service working effectively and efficiently on a day-to-day basis.

The Role

The Business Management Team (BMT) is a sub team within FPP and provides executive level support to Directors in FPP and PACT, including secretariat for both senior leadership teams and a comprehensive business support function.

This role will support the Business Management Director (BMD) to deliver strategy and planning support within both teams across FPP and PACT. It is responsible for the development of business plans as well as ensuring agreed plans are monitored and reported appropriately.

Some of the responsibilities for this role include:

• Manage the business management cycle, ensuring all stakeholders are aware of the annual timetable and agreeing deliverables with responsible owners.
• Support the planning process to capture and report strategic objectives for inclusion to the Corporate Business Plan.
• Responsible for maintaining the principle and corporate risk registers for FPP and PACT, and capture the key controls implemented by risk owners to ensure business objectives are met.
• Support the annual assurance process and coordinate the self-assessment returns for submission to the Governance Office.

The Trade Marketing Manager is a vital member of our Trade Marketing team within the wider Commercial Own Brand group, responsible for implementing the TM strategy and securing supplier investment that drives performance across our retail, coffee shops and pubs and bars. You will keep abreast of market dynamics, understand consumer behaviour and build close working relationships with our key supplier partners, as well as possessing the hunger and drive to seek out and negotiate new investment.
Main Duties


- Collaborate with the teams of each sales channel to develop Trade Marketing (TM) strategies that align with business objectives
- Nurture and maintain strong relationships with key trade partners, working with them to showcase SSP network, understand Brand Plans, create shared objectives and develop marketing initiatives
- Create Activation Plans, co-ordinate the creation of marketing POS materials and allocations and create unit SharePoint posts for own Supplier campaigns

Key Responsibilities:

• Market Analysis & Strategy Development:

  • Conduct thorough market research to identify new business opportunities within the hard services FM sector.
  • Develop and implement strategic business development plans to achieve growth targets.

• Client Acquisition & Relationship Management:

  • Identify and engage with potential clients, building strong relationships to understand their needs and offer tailored FM solutions.
  • Maintain and expand relationships with existing clients to ensure high levels of customer satisfaction and retention.

• Sales & Revenue Generation:

  • Prepare and deliver compelling sales presentations and proposals to prospective clients.
  • Negotiate contracts and close deals to achieve or exceed sales targets.
  • Monitor sales performance and report on progress to senior management.

• Collaboration & Team Leadership:

  • Work closely with the operations and technical teams to ensure seamless service delivery and client satisfaction.
  • Lead and mentor junior business development staff, fostering a high-performance culture.

Qualifications & Experience:

• Proven track record in business development, sales, or a related role within the facilities management industry, with a focus on hard services.
• Strong understanding of the hard services FM market, including HVAC, electrical, mechanical, and building maintenance services.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
• Ability to build and maintain strong client relationships.
• Strategic thinker with strong analytic skills and the ability to drive results.
• Self-motivated, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.

We have a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Sales Progression Manager to join our national Statutory Sales team, which is responsible for affordable home ownership resales, retirement resales, staircasing, lease extensions, remortgages, and transfers of equity. In this role, you'll apply your expertise in Right to Buy and Right to Acquire to help drive our team towards achieving our home ownership sales objectives. You’ll play a pivotal role in ensuring a smooth and positive experience as our customers look to buy the homes they rent with us.

Typical day as Sales Progression Manager (know internally by us as Lead Statutory Sales Executive)

• Maximising sales performance of our Right to Buy, Right to Acquire and Deposit Builder sales, ensuring the team are proactive on sales conversions to exceed targets.
• Driving all activity and sales performance, ensuring our customer journeys are informed, positive and proactive.
• Prioritising and managing a large and varied workload to meet performance targets and statute deadlines. You’ll be a key point of contact for our customers during their exciting experience of buying their home.
• Unleashing the potential of your team, through brilliant coaching you’ll ensure exceptional quality of service, customer satisfaction, reduce sales periods and drive service improvements.

You bring

• A strong property sales background, with expert knowledge and experience in Right to Buy and Right to Acquire to ensure that the service provided to customers is right first time. You’ll also know all about shared ownership resales to staircasing, and lease extensions to remortgages.
• A proven people manager who is resilient and determined, who can get the best out of your team to deliver outstanding customer experience whilst smashing your sales targets.
• Great interpersonal skills, proactive and positive in engaging with customers, inspiring your team to be the same.
• Analytical, being able to bring creative solutions and new ways of working to drive sale conversions and continuous improvement.
• A great knowledge of the property market, and all the legal bits that come with that, as well as relevant housing acts, Homes England guidelines and relevant housing legislation.
• Previous experience using Sales Force/CRM would be advantageous but training will also be provided.
