Job purpose:
An exciting opportunity for a Graduate Trainee to gain broad experience across Trade Finance and Cash Management (TFCM) to develop a complete skill set as a foundation for a Transaction Banking management career.
This 18-month Graduate Trainee program is designed for recent Graduates and applicants must have graduated within the past 12 months. Strong performance can lead to final placement in areas of Sales or Strategy/Business Management – subject to business requirements, and candidate performance during rotations / projects in these areas:
(i) Strategy and Business Management
Support the Regional Head and Local Head of Trade Finance and Cash Management in the development and implementation of the business Strategy for Asia and Singapore. Specific tasks will be involved in Strategy and target setting, initiative tracking and working with Sales/Operations teams across the region in implementation.
Develop a multi-country and comprehensive view of the business, and an understanding of market, client and regulatory trends.
(ii) Sales
Support of Sales Specialists in the overall communication with the customer and stakeholders within the organisation.
Assistance to Sales Specialists in preparation of client meetings by compiling internet research on customer and information from internal systems e.g., prepare Terms & Conditions, presentations / pitch decks.
Support in customer meetings, producing minutes and helping with any follow-up.
Independent organization and support in preparation of internal and external events and meetings.
Support the Head in planning, strategizing, implementation, execution, and reporting tasks.
Compliance with the local laws and provisions (amongst other things, regulatory requirements, labour law, tax and commercial law), as well as the relevant internal regulations of Commerzbank.
Key activities:
Strategy and Business Management
- Supporting the Regional Head in executing the business development strategy, mining data to enable controlling and make meaningful adjustments.
- Supporting regional projects, internal and external audits, and assist in various governance functions.
Sales
- Supporting the sales team within the sales process, e.g., research and compilation of market, competitor, and potential analysis as well as product information (in complex cases).
- Independently solving of customer requests in taking the bank’s economical requirements, rules and regulations as well as compliance related tasks into consideration.
- Coordination of customer appointments with existing and potential corporate customers upon request of the sales team.
- Supporting marketing initiatives and customer events together with the sales team.
- Assisting the sales team in processing trade finance and cash management transactions for customers.
- Monitor clients’ business and operations at all levels on a timely and ongoing basis to ensure business opportunities are followed up and for thorough credit and financial crime risk monitoring.
- Uploading, maintaining and finalizing pipeline inputs and acknowledging market trends.
Formal education/Specialist knowledge (work experience, further qualification)
- Recent graduate with not more than 1 year of professional work experience (excluding internships)
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business Finance/Social Science with GPA 3.5/5 & 3.2/4.
