Daily responsibilities for operational quality and curriculum
- Part of and contribution to the Quality and Curriculum IQA and tutor team focusing on operational quality and curriculum and IQA activities
- Contribution to ensuring and maintaining a consistently good if not higher operational quality of provision across the Skills division.
- Be the key contact for our EQA Awarding Body visits, including arranging each visit with the allocated EQA, sharing of information, updates and liaising with our learner recruitment team and MIS for qualification achievement data and certification
- Undertaking IQA awarding body activities as per the quality and curriculum schedule and cycle, including compliance and operational arrangements.
- Working with our adult/health and social care tutors to provide a consistent, reliable and good quality of curricula and education across the Skills division, including the monitoring and reporting of teaching, learning and assessment and the learner learning journey.
- Working within the Quality and Curriculum Team, contributing to ensuring that we meet the Ofsted EIF grade 2 requirements. Working within the quality and curriculum team to contribute and support the business through inspection processes to achieve and maintain grade 2 'Good'.
- Undertake the role of an adult care tutor when required.

Main Responsibilities
Staffing
- Be responsible for the operational line management of your own allocated sector tutor team delivering within own sector area inclusive of, but not exclusive to:
- Performance management and liaising with the SLT and HR matters to determine more serious and agree formal action/s where required
- Undertake monthly tutor caseload 1:1's performance management reviews, including appraisals, personal development action planning and monitoring processes
- Capture tutor team holiday requests and review the expense claims, both for SLT approval
- Be part of the tutor and associate tutors' operational safer recruitment processes, as per agreed and approved by the appropriate member of the SLT
Quality and Curriculum
- Contribute to the sector specific curriculum planning, as informed by the Skills Strategic Curricula Plan
- Deliver and lead on sector specific IQA activity, as per the Quality and Curriculum Policy and processes, to include standardisation activities, ensuring a consistent, high quality of provision and education for learners
- Complete the sampling of learner work/portfolios/assessments in line with our quality policy, processes and calendar to include meeting Awarding Organisation qualification requirements
- Take part in the monthly sector specific curriculum deep dive cycle and processes to check, monitor, evaluate and report on the quality of education and the learner learning journey, identifying strengths, areas for development/improvement and sharing areas of best practice.
- Facilitate learner/apprentice voice sessions to gather, monitor, evaluate analyse and report on feedback to inform quality development and improvement processes.
- Take part in planning and development of the CPD calendar, informed through 1:1 tutor caseload, meetings, performance management and curriculum deep dive processes and personal development plans targets
- Help the deputy quality and curriculum manager in arranging, managing and facilitating EQA/SV visits with the Awarding Organisations
- Be part of the quality and curriculum team to undertake regular reviews, adaptations to and update our operational local curriculum plans, delivery planning and learning resources using our online MIS and learner journey platform, to ensure currency, consistency in approach and design and best practice.
- Liaise with the Challenge-trg group and Skills marketing and operations teams to help develop appropriate materials and programme information for marketing purposes.
- Help to review and improve appropriate monitoring, tracking and reporting lines of communications, systems and procedures relating to operational quality, compliance, management and assessment of the quality of education, ensuring full compliance with Challenge-trg Skills company policies and process.
- Creation of sector specific learner case studies, as identified to showcase best practice and celebrate impact and success.
Essential Skills
- Ability to lead and motivate a tutor team, with effective, clear and good communication skills
- Work collaboratively as a member of the operational Quality and Curriculum Team as a lead IQA and curriculum developer
- Meticulous attention to operational quality and curriculum detail, including effective time management, adherence to KPI's and timebound targets set
- Adopt effective operational working practices, to promote and comply with the Challenge-trg-Group and Skills division vision and values at all times, (this may include occasional work during extended or unsociable working hours when requested during an extenuating circumstance and will be discussed and pre-arranged)
- Act in a calm, organised, responsive, adopting a professionally presented approach and positive attitude to the job role and allocated daily work and operations at all times.
