Airbus US Manufacturing Facility is looking for an Head Of Measurement Systems and J&T Quality to join our Final Assembly Line (FAL) based in Mobile, AL.
Responsible for the team defining, measuring and managing the quality requirements for A320 Family aircraft assembly jigs, tools, equipment, and measurement systems at the Final Assembly Line (FAL) - USA.

Your challenges:
Primary Responsibilities:
Lead the Quality team within the Jigs & Tools organization responsible to:
Manage all personnel needs including internal and external resources required to support the workload. This includes creation of specification and call for tender support for outsourcing of resources during peak demand periods.
Define Quality Assurance (QA) requirements in the technical specifications for Airbus custom tooling and equipment.
Coordinate QA measures with jigs & tools suppliers and monitor their implementation
Participate in the pre-development phase in the creation of new production concepts
Definition of test characteristics
Comparison of new means of production with the requirements
Carry out tests at the manufacturer
Coordinating and conducting tests for the commissioning of production lines and assembly lines
Acceptance testing of small-jigs
Management of incoming tooling and organization of the receiving area.
Support 3D measurements with laser trackers on production systems
Complaint/nonconformity management for the acceptance tests
Documentation of quality assurance activities results
Participation in supplier evaluation
Troubleshooting (determination of causes of error, initiation and verification of remedial measures)
Operate within the team the applicable Airbus business process (FU.IN.03.06) for each measurement system deployed within the FAL USA A320 program.
Lead site activities regarding measurement technology implementation and support of operational needs related to measurement systems.
Analyze the Request for Measurement Systems.
Create work specifications when required to define technical or resource requirements.
Monitor development and validate the Measuring Equipment.
Achieve operational performance along the value chain of the process.
Ensure the documentation and guidance for all in service measurement systems is accurate and available for use by internal and external stakeholders to use, maintain and calibrate the equipment.
Consult the business on metrology issues.
Ensure adherence and measure process performance efficiency and effectiveness as per defined KPIs.
Propose changes to improve the process.
Resolve process non-conformances.
Contribute to process risk analysis management .
Operational/Process Activities
Ensure major updates and/or define & develop new measurement systems and processes according to the business process.
Define and implement site strategy for metrology activity and best practices.

Lead special projects assigned by the manager.
Support the operational day to day activities for the FAL including coordinating subcontractor activities on the site. Oversee/lead root cause analysis investigations. Audit reports/documentation for accuracy/thoroughness.
Support other departments as needed.
Is a technical expert to call for tender processes including contributing to creation of subcontract specifications and scope of work statements.
Provide subcontract advice and counsel to program managers, engineering personnel, and other related functions such as finance, quality and contract administration.
Responsible to track, follow-up and report on corrective action plans regarding service delivery.
Your boarding pass:
Bachelor’s Degree in engineering or a related technical field or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Demonstrated experience developing and managing quality requirements.
Demonstrated knowledge of mechanical/pneumatic/hydraulic/electrical systems.
5 or more years experience in quality assurance in a manufacturing environment.
3 or more years experience implementing and utilizing measurement systems in a manufacturing environment.
3 or more years leading industrial projects.
Experience with ERP systems (SAP, etc.)
Technical certifications preferred.
OSHA certifications preferred.
Related quality certifications preferred.
10% Domestic and International.
Capable of managing complex topics with many stakeholders. Strong communication and leadership skills to facilitate resolution of urgent maintenance topics.
Catia experience preferred.
Experience/training in Spatial Analyzer (metrology software).
Capable to independently make complex technical decisions related to assigned projects.
Decisive regarding quality acceptance standards of tooling and measurement systems.
