Position Summary
As an Associate on the RIA Sales team, you will partner closely with one or more regional leads to support the firm’s efforts with Registered Investment Advisor (RIA) relationships. A high-performing entrepreneurial spirit, operational approach, and alternatives expertise are the central characteristics for an Ares hire. For the Wealth Management Solutions team, the ideal Associate candidate is an alternative investment industry professional with a proven track record of providing effective support for sourcing and cultivating alternative investment advisor partnerships within their geography. Strong communication and organizational skills, along with the ability to drive Ares’ investment solutions as a self-motivated individual with an entrepreneurial mindset will lead to success in this role.
Primary Duties
- Work closely with RIA Sales regional leads to successfully develop Ares’ brand presence and awareness within the RIA channel
- Establish, maintain, and grow relationships with alternative-focused Registered Investment Advisors
- Serve as a subject matter expert representing Ares’ platform and alternative investment solutions, including private equity, private credit, real estate, and secondaries
- Seek strategic opportunities to build meaningful scale in Ares investment offerings as appropriate
- Gain a deep understanding and thoroughly communicate Ares’ product philosophy, process, objectives, and positioning
- Adhere to all compliance guidelines, including use of pre-approved marketing materials, prospectus requirements and proper licensing
- Participate in client seminars and events; maintain professional appearance
- Liaise with various product specialists within AWMS to respond to client needs
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- 2-4 years of financial industry experience; experience with Registered Investment Advisors (RIAs) highly preferred
- FINRA Series 7 and 63 licenses preferred
- Knowledge of the various product sub-sets within the Equity, Fixed Income and International markets, alternative investments preferred
- A history of maintaining high standards of service excellence with both existing clients and prospective investors
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with internal colleagues and external partners
- Demonstrated sales skills, ability to be articulate, flexible, polished, and comfortable in fast-paced environment
- Travel may be up to 10%
- At all times, conduct daily activities in the highest professional manner
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Finance, Business, Economics, or related field preferred. MBA, CPA, CAIA, CFA are welcome but not required

Compensation
The anticipated base salary range for this position is listed below. Total compensation may also include a discretionary performance-based bonus. Note, the range takes into account a broad spectrum of qualifications, including, but not limited to, years of relevant work experience, education, and other relevant qualifications specific to the role.
$105,000 - $150,000
