As a DBA you’ll establish and manage data access and support practices for database technologies.
Developing, implementing and maintaining policies and procedures for ensuring the security and integrity of a database. Performing backup and recovery, configuring database parameters, and designing prototypes against logical data models. Monitoring database and replication servers for resource utilization. Implementing database tuning and performance optimization. Creating and maintaining user profiles for database access, including login and password information.
What you’ll be doing:
- Support legacy systems, new technologies like AI (artificial Intelligence).
- Building internal systems, interact with multiple stakeholders & support Capita Intelligent Communications.
- Working on digitizing physical media to digital media, configuring data parameters.
- Dealing of trimming data into databases
- Ability to work in a team environment
- Ability to remain calm and level-headed under pressure
- Strong problem-solving skills
- Understand the big picture – can step back and understand the context of problems before applying analytical skills to address the issues
What we’re looking for:
- 3+ years’ working with various database technologies
- Microsoft SQL server advantageous
- T-SQL, SQL Always on clustering, MI/reporting tools such as SSRS, Grafana and PowerBI
- Database backup, upgrade, recovery and monitoring to ensure data security
- Azure Data Lake, MySQL, PostgreSQL and others
- Ability to work in complicated environments with multiple Live, Test and Pre-Production environments
- Capacity management and performance optimisation of SQL engines, associated databases, tables and data
- Working in a ITIL environment to ensure change processes are followed and adhered to
- Excellent strategic analysis, problem solving, issue resolution and decision-making skills
