We have an excellent opportunity to join our Trust within our Governance Team in Maternity and Children Services. We are looking an experienced midwife or nurse who is passionate about improving the quality and safety of patient care, you will be joining at an important and exciting time in our journey. This role plays a key role in the delivery of the Trust’s continuous quality improvement and patient safety programmes leading the maternity quality assurance agenda in line with the Trust Policies & Procedures and best practice guidance including CNST submissions, saving babies lives and ATTAIN.
Working with the Head of Maternity Governance and senior management/directorate teams, you will lead maternity services in meeting its statutory requirements and clinical governance objectives by monitoring and reporting on the progress of national drivers such as Care Quality Commission standards and regulations, regulatory initiatives such as Saving Babies Lives Care Bundle, NHS Resolution Maternity Incentive Scheme, Maternity 3 year single delivery plan, Maternity Core Competency Framework, Clinical audit agenda, MBRRACE and the Perinatal Mortality Review Tool, MatNeoSip, and the national maternity reports relating to Ockendon, Kirkup, Nottingham and other maternity service reviews. The post holder will ensure triangulation of information and intelligence from National and Local drivers.
The person will be required to participate in the on-call provision.
This role will be responsible for the leadership and line management of the Maternity Quality Assurance Team in the development of key audit programme and maternity guidelines.
• Support the Head of Maternity Governance on monitoring standards of a range of clinical governance, clinical effectiveness and audit activities.
• Responsible for leading the maternity quality assurance agenda in line with the Trust Policies & Procedures and best practice guidance including CNST submissions, saving babies lives and ATTAIN.
• Work closely with the Head of Maternity Governance, the senior management and directorate teams within Maternity to ensure meaningful and proactive triangulation of data
• Leadership and management of the Quality Assurance Team, including Maternity PDN team, student placement facilitators, the maternity audit programme and maternity guidelines.
• Lead on the development of policies and procedures and associated documentation related to maternity quality assurance to ensure they comply with Care Quality Commission standards, NHSR risk management standards and any other external monitoring bodies.
• Be regularly visible / present in clinical areas, encouraging interaction with all groups of staff and gathering ‘soft’ data to enable triangulation of data and establish effective working relationships.
