Principal build contractor are looking for a Senior/Site Engineer for a QA/Checking role on the construction of a new build student accommodation project. Due to some of the nature of works involved it requires an engineer that has current/previous experience working on projects that include reinforced concrete frames/structures.

Reporting to the Senior Operations Manager your primary role will be the supervision for the groundworks/frame contractor ensuring that their setting out works are completed and correctly checked for the main building for a new student accommodation building which also includes a reinforced concrete basement, the provision of as built records, QA documentation as well as input with any planning and design issues. You will also be involved with site progress meetings providing input into the delivery of the project

CSCS Card will be a mandatory requirement as well as a proven track record doing a QA engineer role

Key Responsibilities:


To monitor and analyse information and data from the home to understand and mitigate emerging risk, escalating concerns as appropriate.
To undertake regulatory assessments in line with regulators
To support Care UK and operational colleagues with understanding of relevant legislation and regulations
To provide coaching to operational teams
To work with homes to achieve high standards of assessments, external inspections or complex safeguarding.
To undertake safeguarding and serious case review investigations as required by Head of Regulatory Governance.
To keep updated regarding developments in the Health and Social Care sector regarding regulation and compliance.
To lead on compliance and quality improvement activities required to ensure business objectives are met.
To conduct coaching and training to care home colleagues and wider Care UKas required.

This involves critical analysis and where appropriate challenge to services to ensure robust assurance is in place. Ensure that all required governance policies, protocols, procedures, and strategies are in place, up to date and are evidence based, this includes proactively monitoring for changes in national/local guidance (incl. NICE) and keeping the Policy Review Group abreast of any changes that may impact on Trust-Wide Policies. To lead the review of Trust wide policies,to ensure that they are current, reflect national guidance and current legislation and are compliant with relevant Trust wide standards. Assess the impact of new policies on CQC compliance and comment on draft policies to ensure the authors are aware of the impact. To deputise for the Quality Improvement Manager in their absence and where appropriate take responsibility for the Quality Improvement Teams financial budget. Key Relationships: The role will receive line management from the Trusts Quality Improvement Lead, who will also provide guidance and supervision in quality improvement methodologies. Other key relationships are: - The Trusts corporate governance team, with a particular alignment to the Trusts Quality Assurance and Improvement Manager, where close, partnership working will be essential to the success of the Trusts outstanding regulated compliance. Supporting and managing the Directorates risk management processes working alongside other Directorates and Divisions to ensure that completed incident investigations are of a high standard and are managed in a timely manner as required by the Trust. Identifying trends and working with modality teams to develop quality improvement processes to reduce risk and improve quality of care for patients. The post holder will also lead on the Directorate Audit Programme presenting this in a format that that meets QSI (Quality Standard for Imaging) standards, supporting Modality Teams with the development of KPIs (key performance indicators) to ensure that local processes are regularly audited to assess the quality of services. Working closely with the Research and Innovation (R&I) Department to assess feasibility of new trials ensuring all governance checks are complete before authorisation. To manage the research budget liaising with the Divisional Finance Department to ensure spend plans are produced and submitted in a timely manner each year. To lead on providing research and audit evidence as required for QSI external assessments and to support accreditation site visits,
