As a Quality Control Manager, you will ensure the project is built within contract document specifications, owner requirements, and comply with local, state, and federal building codes. You will coordinate with other trades, process daily reports of project progress and adhere to all guidelines issued by the owner. As a strong communicator, you will help to build a quality control team that is open, transparent, and delivers excellence.  

 

Responsibilities

• Partner with the project team to understand, plan, and implement the contract drawings and specifications

• Collaborate  with the owner, design team, and contractors to ensure quality and timeliness of project construction and completion

• Implement and manage the “Three Phases of Control” Quality Control Plan

• Oversee submittal review and approval

• Schedule and conduct quality control meetings - Preparatory, Initial Phase, Follow-up

• Control documents related to quality control functions

• Establish testing procedures in accordance with contract specifications

• Manage inspections process

• Coordinate third party testing agents and interface with the Owner’s representatives as required

• Closely track and maintain a project deficiency log

• Manage the punch list process

• Oversee project closeout deliverable process-training, O&Ms

• Confer directly with the executive management team

• Encourage, lead, and/or participate in staff training and development

• Proactively identify and develop relationships with industry professionals to generate and win the right work

 Basic Qualifications

• Undergraduate degree in a construction or related discipline or relevant experience

• Minimum 5-8+ years verifiable construction quality control and/or inspection experience

• Uses expertise to create a vision and aligns the team to deliver/achieve desired outcomes

• A track record of establishing/contributing to creative strategic solutions  

• Ability to communicate effectively with, persuade, and gain “buy-in” from, a broad range of stakeholders (e.g., executive team, leadership team, Business Unit Leaders, direct reports, clients, trade partners, and third party providers

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Department Assistant: Quality to join our Quality Team reporting to our Head of Quality of Education, on a fixed term contract until 16/10/24, maternity cover. Our Quality Team is small and friendly team who work hard to make a difference to the teaching staff across the whole organisation.

As a Department Assistant: Quality with Etc. you will be responsible for

Coordinate Surveys: Manage various surveys using QDP's learner survey software, ensuring smooth implementation and accurate data collection.
Facilitate Focus Groups: Help organise and conduct focus groups for learners and stakeholders, fostering open communication and gathering valuable insights.
Maintain Survey Records: Keep detailed records of learner survey outcomes, ensuring the accuracy and accessibility of data for analysis and reporting.
Communication Hub: Effectively communicate survey and focus group outcomes to relevant stakeholders, promoting transparency and awareness within the Quality department.
Administrative Support: Provide crucial administrative support, including assisting with team meetings, record-keeping, and carrying out additional duties as required, contributing to the overall efficiency of the team.
The ideal candidate will be friendly, flexible and organised. They will have excellent IT and problem solving skills, with a good eye for detail and an understanding of the importance of accuracy. They must be willing to learn and develop and be a great team player.

As a Quality Manager you will be responsible for the creation and implementation of best practice quality vision, strategy, policies, processes and procedures to assist and improve operational performance.


You will ensure the company achieves quality objectives, ISO standards and customer requirements with responsibility for new quality initiatives and projects, ensuring the quality of all internally produced and bought in components meet the quality standards required as well as supporting audit and inspection activities.

Who we’re looking for

To apply, we ask that you have a relevant manufacturing / engineering degree or equivalent level 5 qualification and a proven work history. You will have a minimum 5 years’ experience within quality management in a manufacturing environment, knowledge of a wide variety of manufacturing, machining and assembly processes and techniques and membership of an industry related body. Internal Auditor certification for ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 is essential and ISO 50001 is advantageous.

We are also looking for someone who has knowledge and experience of quality improvement / problem solving techniques such as 5S, CoPQ measures, 8D/CAPA, Kaizen/PDCA, Six Sigma and DMAIC methodology, statistical process control, and visual aids management.

Lean Six Sigma Green Belt and a working knowledge of IATF 16949:2016 are also advantageous.

Strong verbal and written communication skills, interpersonal and leadership skills are essential along with the ability to maintain and monitor accurate written and computerised process data.

Working knowledge of quality management systems, including TS16949 and ISO 9000, IT literate, and proficient in the use of MS Excel, highly competent in training others to meet operation standards. The Cardiff, Children’s Services Commissioning Team wish to appoint a Quality Assurance Manager to work within the Children’s Services commissioning function in Cardiff Council. Previous Registered Manager experience is preferred. The role will manage QA contract monitoring staff. This is a hybrid role with home working, but site visits are a requirements on a frequent basis.

The Children’s Services Commissioning Team within Cardiff Council are responsible for the delivery of externally commissioned services to children, young people and their families known to, or involved with Cardiff Children’s Services. The service is committed to working with and developing the market to increase the quantity and quality of services available to Cardiff Children, Young People, and their families within the Cardiff area.

This is an exciting opportunity to enhance how Children’s Services work with local providers, the wider market, stakeholders, and external agencies ensuring quality of provision and identifying opportunities for improvement in the services available to our children, young people and their families.

The candidate must have Knowledge of RISCA Regulated Services (Service Providers and Responsible Individuals) (Wales) Regulations 2017, a working understanding of contract monitoring and assessing and supporting providers with improving their provision. The post holder will play a critical role in oversight of Escalating Concerns within the service and in regular communication with providers.

The role will be integral in strengthening and maintaining the relationships with providers, reviewing and overseeing the quality of placements including those operating without registration. The role requires someone who understands the pressures within the sector and supporting them to meet the current and changing needs of our children, young people and their families and will be crucial in the delivery of cost effective and high-quality outcomes.

We wish to appoint an individual who can demonstrate effective supervisory and leadership skills whilst also possessing effective analytical, communication and engagement skills. Experience and knowledge of commissioning activity within a health or social care related sector is an essential requirement of this post.
