You will be responsible for managing quality at the Christie Oncology Cytogenetics laboratory site as well as deputising for and supporting the Quality Manager. You will also be supporting the management of a team of registered Clinical Scientists to deliver and develop the diagnostic workload and to develop the workforce. The team will be dependant on your area of expertise and service need and could be based at the NW GLH Manchester site or at the Christie Oncology Cytogenetics Laboratory. State Registration as a Clinical Scientist in the modality of Genetics is Mandatory. You will have achieved success in the first written examination component of the FRCPath examination (Genetics, or Molecular Genetics, or Cytogenetics or Molecular Pathology) or be actively working towards this.

Ideally, you'll have been educated to degree level or equivalent within a relevant subject (e.g. physics, chemistry, mathematics, environmental science, geography) and be a full Member of the Institute of Air Quality Management.

You’ll be highly knowledgeable across all the main environmental air quality areas: atmospheric dispersion modelling (such as ADMS Roads, ADMS 5 and/or AERMOD), air quality/dust monitoring and always up to date with current methods, legislation, guidance and standards. You’ll have significant experience in assessing the air quality impacts on human health and ecology. We’re also interested in candidates with experience of assessments for carbon capture and storage technologies using amines.

What you’ll be doing

Preparing applications for environmental permits, licenses and approvals from regulatory agencies – including new applications and variations to and surrender of existing permits.
Developing environmental management system documents and supporting management plans required by our Clients environmental permits
Overseeing permit monitoring and reporting to the UK Regulators
Discharging pre-operational conditions and permit improvement condition items
Respond to and deal with technical queries on projects as required and in a professional and timely manner
Preparing proposals with review from senior staff
Ensuring quality control of the output of projects in accordance with the approved QA system
Supporting and being the potential lead role for aspects of work delivery reporting to more senior staff for approvals
Supporting more senior staff in the delivery of the permit and compliance team marketing strategy.

Who we’re looking for

MSc in an environmental discipline and a good understanding of pertinent environmental legislation, regulations and guidance documents.
Previous experience in preparing permit applications
A good understanding of UK regulators permitting guidance and requirements
Strong project management skills

Data QualityAdministrator Management of call and recall for QOF / IIF / /DES and local Care / PCN plus any additional schemes or projects to which the Practice has opted in. Lead and manage the Practice Abtrace system as part of the overall Data Quality role ensuring staff fully utilise the system, provide training and guidance as needed and trouble shoot any issues that arise. Coding of data and corrections of data errors and omissions to ensure correct achievement and data entries. Liaise with staff to ensure correct coding and recording of all required information. As part our client's Power Networks team, you will play a pivotal role in designing, developing and implementing control system strategies and systems for a variety of power generation, transmission, and distribution projects. Your deep system and network understanding will enable you to assess project feasibility, develop designs and deliver the control system solutions needed to redefine the energy landscape, revolutionising how we harness, distribute, and manage energy.

What are we looking for?

• Bachelor's or master's degree in electrical engineering, Control Systems Engineering or a related field.
• Proven experience in designing and implementing control systems for power generation, transmission and distribution projects.
• Strong proficiency in control system design, simulation, and optimization using tools such as MATLAB/Simulink, Digsilent PowerFactory or similar software.
• Familiarity with industry standards and regulations related to power systems and control systems engineering (e.g., IEC 61850, IEEE standards).
• Experience with programming languages commonly used in control systems such as C/C++, Python, or PLC programming languages.
