Cyber Security Assurance Manager
We have a brand new role for a Cyber Assurance Manager to join our growing Cyber Competency Centre, providing Thales UK business units with Cyber Security expertise.
Reporting to the UK Head of Cyber and the assigned domain Technical Director for the assurance of through-life cybersecurity engineering activities relating to products and solutions within the domain:
Key responsibilities:
- Participating in key technical reviews for all bids and projects within the scope of their assignment.
- Verifying that cybersecurity risks have been identified, assessed and managed within bids and projects in agreement with the delegated authorities for engineering security risk approval in Thales UK.
- Reviewing the principle security artefacts and security deliverables (as defined within the Cybersecurity Management Plan) and advising the security practitioners on the artefact’s completeness and fitness for purpose.
- Maintaining sector based specific knowledge in their area of responsibility.
- Overseeing the continued (cyber) assurance activities of products and solutions within the scope of their assignment. This should include all relevant phases of DDQS and in-service assurance.
- Articulating the cybersecurity risks of products and solutions, and the assessment of potential/proposed risk management options.
- Supporting the cybersecurity assurance aspects of product policy and road mapping
- Supporting Business Unit leadership’s cybersecurity transformation, including general cybersecurity upskilling and knowledge transfer within domain
- Assist customers in the routine development of Operational Technology (OT) security practices
Location: Can be flexible on Base location (Reading, Crawley, Bristol, Ebbw Vale, Cheadle, Doncaster, Home Start) ; Circa. 40% remote but will need to be flexible to travel around the numerous Thales & Customer facilities/locations.
What we are looking for:
- A background with Cyber Security Engineering
- Operated in multi stakeholder environments with the ability to influence to ensure right outcomes are reached.
- Experience of guiding complex projects through security risks and mitigation activities
- Have worked with external partners and accreditation bodies
- Experience of applying cybersecurity to OT, IOT and/or embedded environments.
- Ability to apply secure by design approach through engineering lifecycle and in service.
- Understand where and how key cybersecurity technologies are applied, the fundamentals behind the technology and the ability to assess suitability of candidate products.
- Ability to articulate (and distinguish between) cyber security and cyber resilience approaches.
