RPS is looking for a Senior Consultant within the Permitting & Compliance team to join our Environmental division in various locations. The Team supports a range of projects including waste management, conventional and renewable energy, oil and gas and other major industrial clients.

What you’ll be doing
Preparing applications for environmental permits, licenses and approvals from regulatory agencies – including new applications and variations to and surrender of existing permits.
Developing environmental management system documents and supporting management plans required by our Clients environmental permits
Overseeing permit monitoring and reporting to the UK Regulators
Discharging pre-operational conditions and permit improvement condition items
Respond to and deal with technical queries on projects as required and in a professional and timely manner
Preparing proposals with review from senior staff
Ensuring quality control of the output of projects in accordance with the approved QA system
Supporting and being the potential lead role for aspects of work delivery reporting to more senior staff for approvals
Supporting more senior staff in the delivery of the permit and compliance team marketing strategy.
Who we’re looking for
MSc in an environmental discipline and a good understanding of pertinent environmental legislation, regulations and guidance documents.
Previous experience in preparing permit applications
A good understanding of UK regulators permitting guidance and requirements
Strong project management skills
Ability and confidence to build and maintain working relationships with clients, external bodies and internal teams.
