JOB TITLE: Senior (Assurance)
JOB DESCRIPTION: Prepare financial and disclosure statements for agribusiness sector using CCH Engagement software in order to serve clients in industries including, but not limited to, tree nuts, grain, fruit, other fresh and frozen produce, and retail stores. Train and coach new staff members in order to prepare them to take on more complex assignments and additional engagements. Perform audits of inventory, verify the accuracy and valuation of inventory of agricultural commodities such as hay, horticultural, meat, seafood, grain, tree nuts, dairy, fruit, winery, and poultry. Audit includes physical counts, reconciliation with book records, assessment of obsolescence or spoilage, and compliance with accounting standards. Perform inventory testing, which includes planning and risk assessments, physical inventory observation, valuation and costing, testing the existence and ownership, and quality and condition assessments. Develop audit procedures for agribusiness, using sampling techniques, risk assessments and price testing. Conduct employee benefit plan audits (401k primarily). Present audit findings, furnish financial statements and required deliverables, and review Form 5500. Collaborate with employee benefit plan third-party administrators, such as Fidelity, Principle, Matrix, Paychex, Empower, Ascensus. Ensure compliance with applicable regulatory requirements, such as the ERISA, DOL regulations. Review plan documents, participant disclosures, and other relevant materials to assess compliance. Work as the lead “in-charge” auditor responsible for overall execution of audit including risk assessment and planning, project timeline and deliverables, and managing complex audit engagements, including overseeing the work of staff and/or Associate level personnel, reviewing work and providing feedback. Furnishing financial statements and deliverables, including balance sheet, income statement, cashflow statements, and drafting footnote disclosures and supplemental schedules. Keep manager/principal aware of engagement status and problem areas. Interact and communicate with clients to gather information to ensure timely engagement completion.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: Requires a Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field plus two (2) years of experience in an accounting position or related occupation to include processing and reporting company financial data, conducting consultations with clients on legislation and regulation, and working with cloud-based business/financial software such as Workday, APG, Knowledge Coach, Engagement Organizer or similar. Postsecondary coursework must have included governmental accounting and use of GASB. Must be eligible to sit for CPA exam. Domestic travel required 30% of the time to/from client sites, training, and meetings. Telecommuting permitted within Roseville, CA. New hires subject to background check.
SALARY: $92,000 to $110,454 per year.
