The Business Risk Senior Analyst is a seasoned professional role. Applies in-depth disciplinary knowledge, contributing to the development of new techniques and the improvement of processes and work-flow for the area or function. Integrates subject matter and industry expertise within a defined area. Requires in-depth understanding of how areas collectively integrate within the sub-function as well as coordinate and contribute to the objectives of the function and overall business. Evaluates moderately complex and variable issues with substantial potential impact, where development of an approach/taking of an action involves weighing various alternatives and balancing potentially conflicting situations using multiple sources of information. Requires good analytical skills in order to filter, prioritize and validate potentially complex and dynamic material from multiple sources. Strong communication and diplomacy skills are required. Regularly assumes informal/formal leadership role within teams. Involved in coaching and training of new recruits Significant impact in terms of project size, geography, etc. by influencing decisions through advice, counsel and/or facilitating services to others in area of specialization. Work and performance of all teams in the area are directly affected by the performance of the individual.
The Volcker Rule Office (VRO) is Citi’s first line function that manages our ongoing firm-wide compliance with the Volcker Rule. Responsibilities include the design, operation and oversight of the central proprietary trading and covered fund control framework required to ensure Citi has a reasonably designed program for compliance with the Volcker Rule. Working closely with the businesses, ICRM, Legal, Finance and Risk, the team is responsible for the design and operation of key Volcker controls for the firm including, but not limited to, Reasonably Expected Near Term Demand (RENTD) analysis for limit setting, Trading Mandates, Risk Mitigating Hedging controls and Metrics reporting to the Volcker Regulators. As a member of the Volcker Rule Office, you will deliver integrated solutions supporting Citi’s global Volcker Rule compliance program, in line with regulatory expectations, and working closely with the front office, Independent Risk, Compliance and other functions.
Responsibilities:
Responsibilities and priorities will reflect needs of the organization and will evolve over time, however the following are some of the specific activities expected of this role:
Conduct daily Volcker trade and position monitoring. Investigate feed/booking issues that impact data quality of Volcker metrics reported to regulators.
Communicate and coordinate with various different stakeholders to ensure correction of data issues within established SLAs.
Provide weekly Volcker data quality governance, oversight, and support to the IT Organization . Ensure reporting specifications are being met for each in-scope system and product set. Where there is lack of clarity, work with SMEs in business, tech, and finance to reach agreement and understanding by all parties.
Monitor the Volcker book of work in JIRA and ensure deadlines are being met. Ensure any outstanding items are addressed via weekly forums and escalation when necessary
Perform drill downs in Volcker and Olympus via SQL and UI Interface. Be able to identify issues/themes from data
Prepare monthly MIS pack for monthly DQ Forum. Highlight the achievements and headwinds faced during the year and tracking to prescribed goals
Assist with the closure of issues related to anomalies in the trade/risk/position/P&L data
Host month end metrics reviews call with desk stakeholders. Document any open issues and oversee them to resolution prior to month end deadlines
Perform ad-hoc requests for senior management and executives including PowerPoint decksand Internal Audit (IA)/Regulatory requests
QA of business process and supporting documentation with reference to project / regulatory expectations
Assist with the project management and delivery of key changes across a number of sales / trading desks and functions including Risk, Legal, Finance and Compliance
Identify, prioritize and proactively manage dependencies, risks, exceptions and issues
Qualifications:
3-8 years Project Management experience in financial services, control compliance or legal disciplines
Experience with work-flow systems
Excellent project management and organizational skills.
Outstanding relationship building and relationship management skills
Consistently demonstrates clear and concise written and verbal communication skills
Proficient in Microsoft Office with an emphasis on MS Excel
Self-motivated and detail oriented
