The post holder will head up the Trust Clinical Audit Service. They will devise quality improvement programmes and lead systematic processes for monitoring standards of care by incorporating evidence based practice, including Clinical Audits, Quality Assurance Audits and NICE guidelines.
The post holder will lead of the Trust-wide implementation of NICE guidance and quality standards. They will also lead on service improvement programmes and clinical practice improvement work across the Trust, in line with the Quality of Care Strategy. Further lead areas will include the responsibility for a range of clinical governance functions within the Nursing Quality & Clinical Governance Team to support effective quality governance, assurance and performance monitoring across the Trust including oversight of directorate risk register, BAF action plans, objectives and quality reports.
The post holder will lead key projects and service improvement programmes.
• · Responsible for the line management of the Clinical Effectiveness Team
• · Initiate and implement change effectively in response to practice and/or organisational demands
• · Lead on the development and implementation of the Trust’s clinical audit programme and quality assurance audits
• · Responsible for ensuring NICE guidance is analysed and that Trust’s practice is measured against all relevant NICE guidelines, and action plans developed to address areas of non-compliance with this guidance.

• · Lead on the management of specific tasks, and lead reporting and analysis across a range of specialties, functions and projects
• · Influence and motivate teams to adopt new ways of working to enhance the delivery and performance of the team. This will involve securing the co-operation of the practice and managerial teams
• · Establish and maintain effective relationships with colleagues in corporate and clinical teams to deliver an effective service , and support the organisation in relation to managing statutory compliance
• · Develop and initiate new ideas to support the quality governance agenda, which will include planning and implementing new ways of working

• · You will require excellent presentation skills to present and train on a range of new and unfamiliar concepts to Trust staff at all levels and to professionals in the wider health community, including Integrated Care Boards (ICB)
• · You will design and lead service improvement events for staff from different professions and staff groups, ensuring their fulling understanding and engagement in all service improvement processes and activities
• · You will lead on a number of projects using an evidence-based project management approach
• · You will implement and manage project changes and interventions to achieve project outputs, project evaluations, and assessment of results
• · You will be responsible for the production of a variety of comprehensive reports in relation to practice development initiatives for the Executive Team, Trust Board, a variety of internal groups, and Integrated Care Boards.
• · You will present reports defining project progress, problems and solutions, including the production and management of issues logs, risk logs, and action logs
• · You will monitor and contribute to the drawing up of departmental and project budgets
• · You will establish and maintain effective relationships with colleagues in corporate and clinical teams to deliver an effective service, and support the organisation in relation to managing statutory compliance.

Service Improvement Programme Management
• · You will lead on:
• • o implementation of relevant national policy/practice guidelines (e.g. NICE clinical guidelines and quality standards) and provide support to inpatient and community teams
• o implementation of multi-professional clinical audit activities
• o development of standardised methods of practice assessment for clinical practice
• o Identifying where any service improvement programmes will impact upon budgets, and ensure that all work is financially sound.
• · You will challenge existing practices, ensuring progressive solutions that take account of models of best practice, and optimise the use of resources
