Job Title: Quality Inspector
Location: Hythe, Kent
Salary: £24,903.84 increasing to £26,405.56 following successful probation
Hours: Monday to Thursday 8am-5pm and Friday 8am-1pm

Is a leading manufacturing and supplier of components for multiple industries. They offer a 360 degree service from design support, prototyping, assembly to the testing of finished products.
Role Summary:
You will be responsible for ensuring that components are produced to the highest quality and in line with customer specifications.

Key responsibilities within your new role would be to:
To ensure that components produced are of the best quality
To ensure that components produced are correct to customer specifications
To verify dimensions
Check first offs that the setter or operator require second checking
Carry out goods inwards inspection of material and components received from suppliers
Inspect components before they are sent out to the customer
Record non-conforming products
Create quality documentation
Identify causes for non-conformance and work to improve the product quality and discuss recommended actions
Assist with the calibration of company equipment as required
Ensure that you are working to the correct methods
To be responsible for your own Health & Safety in the area you are working in
Ensure good house keeping of your working environment
Attend daily tier meetings
Assist with customers/visitors if required
Experience and skills required for this position:
The ability to read engineering drawings.
The ability to use a range of measuring equipment i.e. - vernier caliper, micrometre, height gauge, slip gauges, clock & stand, depth micrometres etc.
Knowledge of specific quality tools and equipment eg. RA surface tester, CMM, shadow graphs and x-ray would be an advantage.
Calibration of equipment and gauges.
Working knowledge of Microsoft applications including Excel, Word and Outlook.
Good mathematical skills.
Excellent attention to detail.
Good organisational skills.
Good communication skills.
Problem solving ability.
