The duties and responsibilities for a Procurement Analyst generally include, but are not limited to, the following:

• Overseeing the development and recommendations of policies and procedures in the functional area of procurement and acquisition.
• Assessing procurement programs and develop guidance to users across the agency.
• Advising management, contracting officers and procurement professionals on procurement actions.

• Research problems surfaced by customers and resolve issues or routes to appropriate senior leadership for further analysis.
• Retrieve and use data to evaluate a wide variety of supply transactions, programs, and vendor inquiries.
• Evaluate various supply transactions to include customer issues, backorders, turn-ins, and receipts for mission critical property.
• Perform research to determine reasons for patterns of transaction errors and failures. Research different databases and publications to extract data.
• Analyze data from different databases to ensure consistency and accuracy.

Search Consultancy are supporting a manufacturing company to recruit a Temporary Purchase Ledger Clerk on a two month contract at their office in Hull.

This is a brilliant opportunity for an individual who is seeking a new opportunity, keen to get into a new finance role and is immediately available.

The role will consist of processing invoices accurately, preparing and processing payments, reconciling supplier statements and resolving any discrepancies. You will also be calculating VAT, maintaining accurate record of all transactions as well as assisting with month-end duties.

To be considered for this role you will ideally need to have relevant experience of at least 1 year, strong attention to detail, great organisation skills as well as communication skills. You will also need to have proficiency in Microsoft Office especially Excel and financial software systems.

The role will be paid on an hourly basis equivalent to £26,000 per annum. This will be working fully on site in Hull on full time hours working 5 days a week.

THE ROLE

As the Contracting Specialist/ Procurement Analyst you will serve as the procurement/contracting subject matter expert and advisor to the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) and is responsible for planning, advising, and administering contracts, and interagency agreements for services and supplies all in support of the agency, and performing a variety of financial functions to facilitate financial and operational management applicable regulations adherence.

You will perform the following duties:

• Serves as the contracting/procurement expert and advisor on the acceptability and applicability of overall procurement objectives. Provides advice and guidance on contracting matters to project managers and contracting officer representatives.
• Utilizes knowledge of various contract vehicles and applicable statutory requirements to develop and formulate standard operating procedures on issues critical to the STB contracting and procurement activities.
• Develops procurement objectives and strategies including terms of competition, selecting appropriate methods of generating proposals (solicited and unsolicited) and selecting appropriate methods, techniques, and instruments for implementing widely differing types of proposed projects or activities.
• Provides general oversight of agency purchase requests, interagency agreements, purchase orders, contracts, and other source documents to ensure that the agency's expenses remain within applicable limits and thresholds, are accurately documented, and does not violate agency policies, the Anti-Deficiency Act, the Federal Acquisitions Regulations (FAR), and applicable acquisition regulations.
