Job Description
Reporting to Company Managing Director.
This position contains following roles:
1) To manage procurement organization and buyers
directly in Singapore and indirectly in Malaysia,
Indonesia, Philippines, Australia, Cambodia, Thailand,
Vietnam, Myanmar, Bangladesh, India and UAE
2) To be the escalation point in such procurement related
activities as vendor selection, quotation, price
negotiation, purchase order placement and delivery
management operated by buyers.
3) To be responsible for maintaining procurement ethics
and associated lows/regulations in Singapore and other
countries.
4) To report the activities and associated outcome to
Japan HQ (KDDI Corporation) in Japanese upon request
(no lesser than once in a month).
Responsibilities
· To choose best suppliers for the companies’
procurement activities.
· To assess the suppliers periodically and change when
necessary.
· To develop and maintain the company’s procurement
rule books and manuals in Singapore.
· To conduct the standardization on procurement rule
books and manuals in other countries than Singapore
based on Singapore’s.
· To administrate the company’s procurement system and related procedures.
· the accounting procedures and make any appropriate improvement thereof.
· To be the final approver and responsible all purchase orders placed in Singapore.
· To collaborate with Sales, Tech (engineering/Network & Facilities/ Internal IT/Maintenance) , Accounting & finance to develop a comprehensive procurement procedure and maintain the operations.
· To maximize the cost reduction in Singapore + other
countries via vendor negotiation.
· To ensure deliver due dates to meet the customers’
requirement.
· To coordinate with the procurement
organizations/buyers in other countries to maximize the
procurement benefit in KDDI group companies in SEA.
· To collaborate with internal/external auditors when
requested.
· To assess buyers to determine salary/bonus, encourage
them daily and create and execute a carrier
development plan.
Requirements
· At least over 8 years of the experience as a procurement
manager to manage multiple buyers.
· Ideally an experience to work in supplier end (manufactures/distributors) in multiple years.
· Ideally an experience to work in a Japanese company in multiple years.
· Strong strategic thinking, problem-solving and project management skills.
· Excellent leadership and people management skills with demonstrated improvement to overall department outcomes.
· Self-driven with a positive mindset.
· Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to work effectively across different levels. Strong negotiation skill is a plus.
· Both English and Japanese language proficiency, oral and written, to liaise with Japanese MD and the parent company in Japan.
