An opportunity has become available for a Procurement Category Manager to join our team!

As a qualified and experienced procurement professional you will make use of your experience of working within the public sector and enjoy meeting the needs of internal customers and delivering quantifiable benefits back to the organisation.

You will be responsible for procuring a wide range of equipment and services to support our research and teaching activities predominantly across the Faculty of Science and the Faculty of Engineering, often working closely with internal stakeholders to ensure that external funding deadlines are successfully met. Although not essential, you will have some experience of procuring from the scientific and engineering markets.

Further information

The role is offered on a full-time basis (36.5 hours per week) for a fixed-term period until May 2025 and offers you the flexibility to operate hybrid working arrangements. An office base is available within a city centre location near the Bath Spa train station or you can also work remotely with the flexibility to determine your optimum balance of work locations across the week.

Role Responsibility

• You will have overall responsibility for the running of the store, focusing on customer experience, colleague development, and delivering commercial growth in line with our 5-year strategy.
• Putting the customer at the heart of everything we do you will develop a team of colleagues who live and breathe our customer promise and actively seek ways to delight our customers.
• You will coach, train and develop colleagues within your store harnessing their strengths and building on development areas.
• Be proactive in recruiting a team of Assistant Managers, Team Leaders, and Sales Assistants that reflect our values, behaviours with the required skill set to meet our business needs.
• Make commercial decisions around stock availability and merchandising.

As Assistant Store Manager we are looking for a well rounded and commercial ‘retail manager’ who is proactive in their approach and can work using their own initiative, fashion experience is desirable however not essential as full training provided. The ideal candidate will have previous experience either in management or supervision of personnel within a retail outlet.

As Assistant Store Manager, you will be expected to:

Assist the manager in the day to day operation of the store whilst ensuring costs are contained within targets.

Maximize store profitability by promoting sales within the store.

Ensure that a high level of customer service is delivered at all times.

Manage, coach and motivate the team to deliver to all targets and lead by example.

Deputize for the manager when necessary.
