The role
As a Procurement Manager, you'll have a role that's out of the ordinary. Everything we do for our customers involves some element of supply chain management; our suppliers therefore play a critical role in enabling us to fulfil our commitments and live up to our purpose 'Create a safe and secure world, together'.
Day to day, you'll work with our business unit and bid teams to ensure that effective supply chain strategies are considered and included in all significant bids. The role will be required to identify the most appropriate supply chain solution for each bid, taking account of capability, risk, supplier management issues and total cost.
- Assist in the production of an 'Opportunity Analysis' by reviewing the Sector's bid pipeline to identify bids with a material supply chain element
- Identify the most appropriate supply chain to deliver the capability required to support new business opportunities
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders across the Sector, working as an integral part of bid teams to ensure alignment with Sector and business unit bid strategies
- Work with the Group-wide wide Procurement network to ensure that existing Babcock supplier relationships and capability are leveraged in bid opportunities, wherever possible
This is a full time role based at our Andover site with a hybrid working from home arrangement.
Essential experience of the Procurement Manager:
- Extensive experience in procurement and supply chain and in a strategic procurement / category managemen. role
- Proven track record in the delivery of innovative supply chains
- Experience of both public sector and private sector procurement
- High quality communication ability, both written and oral
Qualifications for the Procurement Manager:
- Degree in Business, Supply Chain, Engineering or equivalent
- MCIPS / CIPS (desirable not essential)
The successful candidate must be able to achieve SC security clearance for this role.
