The Role
As a Senior Procurement and Supply Chain Specialist, you'll have a role that's out of the ordinary. Reporting to the P&SC Manager and working with key stakeholders, and suppliers to drive both strategic value and operational excellence through all levels of the business. There will be a strong focus on delivering high performance both with a team and the supply chain.
Day-to-day, you'll be responsible for developing and executing (Project) Procurement strategies that meet the business needs in terms of safety, cost, schedule and quality:
- Accountable for managing and leading a procurement team, driving performance to deliver tangible and recognised value.
- Lead Cross Functional Team to ensure procurement deliverables are met in line with cost, quality and programme requirements throughout.
- Leading the development and execution of (project) procurement strategies.
- Developing relationships (new & existing) with key stakeholders ensuring alignment of objectives and mutual setting of goals.
- Accountable for the development of a robust supply chain that supports the delivery of both the functional and business objectives.
This role is full time, 37 hours per week and based at either our Warrington or Leicester sites alongside flexible home working arrangements. Some travel maybe required between sites or to Suppliers as required.
Agile working may be available to employees in some instances, applying the principles of fairness and consistency whilst ensuring that the overriding business needs can be appropriately met. Essential Experience of the Senior Procurement and Supply Chain Specialist:
- Ability to work in cross functional teams and experience of stakeholder management as well as influencing skills.
- A sound understanding of end-to-end sourcing and supplier management processes together with an ability to identify and capture incremental value in an operational working environment.
- Experience of planning and implementing supply arrangements, managing supplier performance and scheduling of deliveries.
- Good understanding of cost models / business models particularly in relation to the NEC models, familiarity with accounting practices, commercial audits, forecasting and valuations and supplier costing models.
- A good understanding of contract terms and conditions and an ability to draft subcontract terms as required and appropriate.
Qualifications for the Senior Procurement and Supply Chain Specialist:
- Membership of CIPS or equivalent / similar is desirable but, not essential.
