Your new role
As a Senior Purchase Ledger, your primary responsibilities will include controlling and setting up new approved suppliers, processing multi-currency invoices, and ensuring adherence to purchase credit and returns policies. You will monitor unfulfilled orders, liaise with internal purchasing representatives, and work closely with the 'Goods In' department to resolve discrepancies. Additionally, you will be responsible for monthly reviews of supplier account information, chasing invoices, and reconciling supplier statements. Your role will also involve managing payment runs via BACS, liaising with external stakeholders for international payments, and ensuring compliance with HMRC Duty charges. This is a full time role, working 37.5 hours per week on a flexible basis.

What you'll need to succeed
To succeed in this role, you will need to be a motivated self-starter with a strong work ethic. Experience of working in a high volume purchase ledger role previously is essential, with an analytical mindset. You should have a proven ability to implement rigorous controls and processes, excellent interpersonal and communication skills, and the ability to multitask and meet deadlines. Proficiency in all major IT applications, including Microsoft Excel (vlookups and pivot tables), is essential.

Your new role
As a Buyer, you will play a vital role in formalising the company's purchasing procedures and developing customer-focused product ranges. You will manage supplier relationships, negotiate pricing, and ensure that all suppliers meet high-quality standards. This role involves occasional travel to meet key stakeholders and suppliers, including trips to Germany and China. Additionally, you will lead and motivate a Buying Assistant, analyse competitor pricing, and stay ahead of market trends to identify potential best-selling products.

Key Responsibilities:
- Formalise and streamline company purchasing procedures.
- Plan, develop, and implement customer-focused product ranges.
- Manage and nurture relationships with existing suppliers, ensuring they meet quality standards.
- Negotiate pricing and contract terms with suppliers.
- Conduct occasional travel to meet with stakeholders and suppliers in Germany, China, and other locations.

What you'll need to succeed

The Role
As Senior Buyer you would play an integral part of the manufacturing process, working closely with other depts within the business. You will ensure the effective management of suppliers to achieve the required performance targets, in conjunction with the internal stakeholders including production, operations, finance, quality and operational needs.

- Ensure Pre-Purchase order authorisations are in place
- Complete and submit the order release process, with all appropriate documentation for authorisation
- Ensure all orders are in line with production / sales timescales requirements to ensure production continuity
- Oversee supplier set-up, strategic ordering, ensuring all parts and material are delivered on time in full
- Ensure effective communication and escalations of initial purchasing issues in a timely manner
- Maintain order record in form of order log or other appropriate mechanism
