Job Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Procurement Specialist to join our dynamic IT team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in managing and optimizing relationships with our network vendors. This role requires a combination of technical expertise, vendor management skills, and a proactive approach to ensure seamless operations and cost-effectiveness.
Responsibilities:
Vendor Selection and Evaluation:
- Collaborate with IT leadership to identify and select network vendors based on project requirements and organizational needs.
- Conduct thorough assessments of vendor capabilities, performance, and reliability.
Contract Negotiation and Management:
- Negotiate contracts, service level agreements (SLAs), and pricing with network vendors to achieve favourable terms for the organization.
- Monitor and enforce vendor compliance with contractual obligations.
Relationship Management:
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with key network vendors.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for vendor communications and issue resolution.
- Conduct regular vendor performance reviews and address any concerns or areas for improvement.
Cost Management:
- Work closely with Finance to track and analyze vendor-related costs.
- Identify opportunities for cost optimization and implement strategies to achieve savings without compromising quality.
Risk Management:
- Identify and assess potential risks associated with vendor relationships.
- Develop and implement risk mitigation strategies to ensure the security and stability of the network infrastructure.
Quality Assurance:
- Collaborate with internal teams to define and enforce network standards and quality benchmarks.
- Conduct regular audits to ensure vendor compliance with quality standards.
Escalation Management:
- Manage escalations related to network vendor performance issues and work collaboratively to resolve them in a timely manner.
Continuous Improvement:
- Stay abreast of industry trends and advancements in network technologies.
- Propose and implement improvements to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of vendor management processes.
- Bachelor’s degree in information technology, Business, or a related field.
- Proven 3-5 years of experience in vendor management, specifically in the IT network domain.
- Strong understanding of networking technologies and protocols.
- Excellent negotiation and contract management skills.
- Analytical mindset with the ability to assess and mitigate risks.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
