As such, they are now urgently seeking an experienced Procurement Officer ready to take the next step in their career and help them on this journey.
Your new role
In this role, you'll advise the Procurement and Contract Management team, developing strategies and procedures. You'll build relationships with officers and customers, and collaborate with other council functions. You'll ensure strategies are communicated effectively and policies are up-to-date and compliant. You'll also design a training programme for stakeholders, resolve complex issues, and develop a competency framework. Other duties may be required to fulfil the role.
What you'll need to succeed
This role requires MCIPS membership or equivalent, or a commitment to achieve MCIPS within three years. The candidate should have 5 years of public sector procurement and contract management experience, excellent knowledge of strategies, policies, processes, and procedures, and evidence of professional development. Strong communication skills, relationship-building, and problem-solving skills are essential. Key behaviours include personal performance ownership, a positive attitude, proactive communication, resilience, confidence, and providing clear objectives for direct reports.
