  What you'll need to succeed

You will have:

• A minimum of two years previous AP experience in a similar role.
• Good IT skills, including knowledge of Orcale & Microsoft Office packages.
• Experience with P2P and ERP systems
• Good analytical and problem-solving skills with an attention to detail

Hays are recruiting for a software company based in North Manchester, who are seeking a Purchase Ledger clerk on a temporary basis for 6 months.

Your new role

On a day-to-day basis, you will be responsible for:

• Posting invoices and credit notes to the accounting system, ensuring all transactions are recorded correctly.
• Managing the purchase ledger by tracking and updating all accounts payable transactions.
• Handling complex payment applications.
• Monitoring and managing aged creditor balances to ensure timely payments and cash flow management.
• Conducting month-end reconciliation processes.
• Posting purchase ledger payments.
• Investigate and resolve complex purchase ledger queries and act as an additional point of contact.
• Process a high volume of invoices accurately and in accordance with agreed procedures and timescales
• Process and reconcile bank statements.

• Assist the Finance Team with any further ad hoc requirements.

What you'll need to succeed

You will possess purchase ledger experience and be able to hit the ground running. You will have experience working with high volumes of work and therefore can work under pressure and deal with complex invoice processing and queries. You will have excellent communication skills in order to work efficiently within the team and communicate effectively with internal and external contacts. The successful candidate will ideally have experience using SAP or a similar integrated package.

This role is for a 3 year fixed-term contract, with a possibility of a permanent role thereafter.

Your new role
The Contracts Officer will be responsible for managing the performance of a number of key contracts across the IT team. Working closely with the procurement team, you will ensure that the performance of all IT contracts is monitored closely and that sufficient KPI and SLA tracking systems are in place. You will work closely with suppliers and manage these business critical relationships, which will involve arranging and attending supplier meetings and representing the organisation.

As the Contracts Officer, you will also manage software licence renewals with stakeholders to ensure that licencing requirements are met. In this role, you will manage and update the contracts database to ensure data accuracy.

You will also support tendering activities such as preparing documentation and liaising with the relevant stakeholders. The Contract Officer will work with key stakeholders on ITTs, SQ completions and tender evaluations.


What you'll need to succeed

• Previous experience in a contract officer / contract management role, ideally gained within the public sector, although private sector backgrounds will also be considered
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
• Strong knowledge of contract policy, process and procedures
• Experience of managing contract performance
• Ideally, you will be CIPS qualified
