Main ResponsibilitiesAs a Category Buyer you will create and maintain excellent supplier relationships to enhance and support the day to day delivery of the Colas business activities. You will work with the Senior Procurement team to develop companywide procurement strategies. You will be involved in the identification, selection and management of Category managed supply chain. You will carry out quotation analysis, evaluation and make recommendation for selection of suppliers to key stakeholders. You will be required to report on category savings and be accountable for performance of supply chain in areas of responsibility. You will promote innovative ways to add value and reduce costs within the team. You will work with the Procurement & supply chain team to prepare analysis of financial spend data and support deep dive reviews into a spend category areas. In this role you will produce, implement & follow and maximise the use of catalogues & group framework agreement on Coupa. You will be in charge Colas ltd catalogues administration on Coupa via Coupa Console. You will identify, propose, and report carbon reduction initiatives through the procurement activity and with the supply chain. To produce, review & maintain Procurement & Supply chain reporting (Power BI) on use of the Coupa catalogues for internal and external stakeholders including but not limited to spend extraction from Coupa, Lisa & Jade and from the supply chain management tools. You will have the ability to work within the Colas business engaging key stakeholders at all levels.
The Ideal CandidateThe ideal candidate will have a degree within Engineering, Business or similar a degree. You will have a Member of the Chartered Institute or Procurement and Supply (MCIPS) qualification or be willing to work towards one. A minimum 2-3 years experience within Category Management/Procurement from within the construction/highways industry is desirable, not essential. Having experience in areas of direct purchase & hire such at Heavy plant, small plant & tools, Opex & spare parts, capex. is essential. We are looking for someone who has the right attitude towards the role.
In this role, good analytical skills is essential. You will be organised, proactive and willing to learn. Having excellent IT skills in Microsoft Office suite, particularly Excel and PowerBi is essential. A full UK driving license is required for this role.
