The SEN Team are seeking to recruit one full time and one part time Education Health and Care Plan Writers.
The successful candidate will have excellent verbal and communication skills. They will need to demonstrate a thorough knowledge of the relevant legislation, the continuum of need and the ability to gather and analyse information from both families and professionals. Good organisational and time management skills are essential along with a working knowledge of IT. Previous experience of writing and amending EHC plans is desirable.
The post Holder will sit in the (SEN) Special Educational Needs Team in the Peoples Directorate.
This role includes liaising with parents or carers of children with Special Educational Needs and a wide range of partner organisations such as health and social care professionals, education psychologists, special teachers and staff from schools and colleges. The post holder will play a fundamental role in supporting children, young people and families through the Education, Health and Care (EHC) needs assessment process and amendments to EHC plans following an annual review. This requires interpreting reports and advice writing statutory Education, Health and Care Plans (EHC) that are high quality and fully compliant with the Childrens and Families Act.
The SEN Team is located at The Portal building in Ellesmere Port however the role will require the post holder to travel across the authority to attend meetings with children and their families in their educational setting.
