The Department processes around 470,000 specimens a year and is based in a modern laboratory that opened in 2006. The Department routinely works 9am until 9pm, utilising , core and late shifts. The successful applicant will be contracted to work 5 out of 7 days.

Working as a Communication Support Worker at Portland means that you will provide crucial support to both the learners and teaching staff here at the college, adapting learning and teaching materials to encourage a learner’s journey. Not only will you support learners and teachers, you will also co-deliver deaf awareness training and assist the student recruitment process through communication support for potential new learners joining the college. THE JOB

The Event Staff and Security at the Xfinity Center is primarily responsible for providing excellent customer service, crowd control, searches at our entrance gates, and helping to maintain a high level of safety at our venue. All employees must adhere to established COVID-19 safety regulations and procedures.

WHAT THIS ROLE WILL DO

• Provide a customer friendly environment.
• Greet and assist guests to seating area and offer other services as needed.
• Monitor and authorize entrance and departure of employees, guests, and other persons to guard against theft and maintain security and safety of the premises.
• Search and screen individuals to prevent passage of prohibited items into the venue.
• Circulate among guests and/or employees to preserve safety, order and to protect the venue property.
• Engage with guests to ensure their needs are met and to provide a positive and safe experience for all.
•  Alert guests of venue rules, as well as report any infractions or violations.
• Write reports of activities and irregularities such as guest incidents or ejections, equipment or property damage, theft, presence of unauthorized persons, or unusual occurrences.
• Patrol premises to prevent and detect signs of intrusion and ensure security of doors gates. 
• Provide general assistance to guests and other staff members to promote an environment in line with the core values of Live Nation.
• Assist in post-show cleanup of assigned area within the venue.
• Other duties as assigned by Security Manager or supervisor

WHAT THIS PERSON WILL BRING

• Must be at least 18 years of age
• Prior customer service experience a plus
• Strong strategic thinking and creative problem-solving skills
• Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
• Acute sense of judgment, tact and diplomacy
• A strong-sense of teamwork and ability to execute programs

• Available to work nights and weekends with the opportunity for additional hours on non-event days
