Assistant Professor of English: Creative Writing
The School of Humanities invites suitable candidates to apply for a faculty position in Creative Writing at the rank of Assistant Professor. The area of specialization and competence is Creative Writing: Poetry. Candidates must have a considerable track record of poetry publications, while an interest in the digital humanities and/or artificial intelligence may be of benefit.
The successful applicant will teach courses in Creative Writing, supervise graduate theses, and contribute to the ongoing development of Creative Writing as an important academic discipline in the school. The English department at SoH offers an undergraduate minor in Creative Writing, as well as postgraduate creative/critical degrees by research (MA and PhD), and elective courses in Publishing.
Requirements
Candidates who have the following qualifications are encouraged to apply:
- PhD or equivalent professional qualification in Creative Writing, English, or a related field
- Teaching specialism in creative writing at undergraduate and/or graduate level
- International profile as a published poet
- An active creative writing publishing agenda
Remuneration
Salary is commensurate with qualifications and experience.
